Myself and my daughter wanted 1 night at short notice and this offered exactly that. Quiet especially at night, heard owls in the woods with lovely views over countryside by day and great for what we wanted.
We knew there was no shower offered and the toilets are basic. I would advise others that are thinking of staying here that there was a lot of dog poo around the site, and cigarette butts and some other rubbish.
There was also some army training happening from around 8. 30am and can be heard from the campsite as the woods are fairly nearby where the training is, lots of shooting. I don’t know if this happens a lot or if this was a one off.
Basic but enjoyable stay and great nights sleep!

Turned up unannounced at tea time and called the number on the poster. Was met by Pete and given the low down on the site for what was where and how to use the rustic showers.
The views were amazing, advised on where the best sunset was. As it was a chilly night we got a fire pit also and just enjoyed the beauty of the site.
We've been camping for about 9 years now and we both agree that this is our favourite site by far.
It's basic, it's exceptionally clean and it's just perfect, ran by lovely friendly owners and we will definitely be back again.
I'm not one for leaving reviews but this is well worth it and at £15 a night we just can't complain.

Absolutely lovely stay
Gem of a campsite
We travelled as two campervans. One couple, one single gent in his own vintage T2. Plenty of room for casual camping - no white posts to reverse a wheel against here!
No extensive list of rules, a common sense campsite at last. Almost level so small ramps easily sorted out a perfectly level pitch. Some areas completely flat.
One Gents loo, one Ladies, very clean. Shower great. Dog walking straight from the campsite. Beautiful lake in the middle.
Very friendly team on hand the entire time and great food from the Camp Kitchen - good value to.
We will definitely return with a few friends. Thank you!

This site is very basic and untidy - we expected this from the other reviews but as we wanted to have a fire and to be able to walk from the site it suited us for 2 nights.
There are two fields, one larger one at the back with caravans parked and a smaller one at the front where we pitched with a hook up. We managed to angle the camper to have an unspoilt view across the grass.
The toilet and shower are in sheds, we didn't use the shower. The toilet had soap and toilet paper provided, the hot water was dribbly but we used the plug to fill the sink.
The owner was friendly and helpful, he sawed some wood for us and there was a fire pit we could use. There are walks from the site to a nearby wood for chestnuts and further afield.
We walked across lovely countryside to Lyminge where we had a pint and a bar snack and then back across the fields. Next day we were going to do another circular walk to the downs but rain stopped us.
Beware the electricity goes off at 10am on the day you check out.
Also the local pub The Cat and Custard Pot mentioned below is now only open Thursdays to Saturdays and is not serving food at present.
It was quiet and peaceful.

Absolutely dreadful - the worst site we have ever stayed on. Granted the pitch was flat and had spasmodic EHU (had to keep re-setting it) but the atmosphere was awful and the toilet (in a wooden shack) was beyond belief - had obviously not been cleaned for goodness knows how long. Never did find the shower block.
Would definitely not return and would recommend others to stay well clear. Difficult to get to through narrow country lanes. Even the fact that it is close to the Chunnel would not entice us to stay there again. Horrible.

My Family and I found this to be a very welcoming campsite, it is a quiet rural site set on a small working farm. The site is currently being developed & there are some signs of construction continuing but when you look around and see the beautiful surrounding countryside and listen to the tranquille songs of the birds and local animals that soon fades away.
We had a great time going for bike rides on the many cycle routes near by, and took leisurely strolls through the wood just down the road from the campsite which would be a great place to take a dog for a walk. There are many local sites within walking or driving distance with amazing views looking over the English Channel and along the Kent Coast.
If you don't fancy cooking for yourself there is a very welcoming local pub ' The Cat & Custard Pot ' which is easily in walking distance from the campsite, here we found they served wholesome home cooked food which was reasonably priced. If you have had enough of relaxing there are many things to do locally, The Battle Of Britain Museum is about a mile away from the campsite and if the kids get bored the Lees at Folkestone has a huge outdoor adventure play park which is free to use, and a great place to have a BBQ near the beach.
If you would like to go further afield the site is only a short driving distance from the Channel Tunnel or the port of Dover. The campsite facilities are quite basic at present but we found them to be cleaned regularly and maintained well with hot water on tap if needed.
The owners are very accommodating and are willing to help with any questions you may have, my family and I will definitely camp there in the future.

Ideally located for visiting local areas - Folkstone, Dover, Canterbury.
Secluded site.
Approx 600 metres from The Cat & Custard Pot - lovely little pub that prepares home cooked food at reasonable prices.
Unfortunately the first thing you see on arrival is that the site resembles a building site - the 2 hard standing pitches are next to a pile of rubble.
Very basic facilities - shower hut still under construction during our stay; no hot water in sink.
Toilet and sink not cleaned during our 6 night stay - I eventually did it myself!
Owners dogs allowed to do their business on the camp field and around the toilet / shower huts and it wasn't cleaned up.
Access is via approx 1 mile of single track road.
