From the Lake District to Spain, over-nighting on Aires, first in Calais and then Le Mans, we discovered this lovely campsite just south of Bordeaux. A warm welcome, heated shower block with hot showers, electricity and WiFi. Open all winter too, when so many French campsites are shut. We shall certainly visit again as it’s also convenient for sightseeing in Bordeaux.

We chose this site for it's proximity to Bordeaux. It is small and has relatively small pitches - you might struggle with a big van and want an awning up. For early season it was very busy. We arrived at 1. 30 - office shut but rang the bell and were shown to a pitch and restored later. There was a choice of only two pitches. All the pitches seem to be 'winterised with at least some pea gravel. Electric was reasonably close as were water and drainage. Electric was very reliable and seemed to be 10 amp judging by what we used- there was no choice given. Toilets, showers etc were immaculate and kept that way throughout our stay. The last two days of our stay the site was full, so if you are set on this site I would book even in low season. Price was 20 euros a night inc electric and tax and excellent wifi at a speed that allowed streaming of TV if required. Owners were very helpful and were willing to speak English if you wanted them to, equally they will converse in French if YOU want to. Clientele was almost exclusively camping-cars. The were a 2/3 mobile homes which were rented - one to a family with some particularly noisy boys who warranted a telling off for playing around the pitches and cars/vans. Access to Bordeaux was explained in detail by Madame. Very easy - walk 200m or so to the bus terminus Blue 10 - get off at Peixotto, walk to the tram - red line into the city. She even suggested an itinerary for a walk about. Tickets were 1. 60 per adult and were valid for one hour on both bus and tram and were bought from the bus drive inward and machines at the tram stops outward. Loner validations were available to purchase from the machines and kiosks but not the driver, so the first journey has to be the 1. 60 euro one!

Fabulous campsite on the edge of the city of Bordeaux. Good access just a few miles off the ring-road.
Small site with 24 pitches, hedges separate good sized pitches, all with ehu. The unisex toilets and showers were immaculate at all times and showers were really good pressure with plenty of hot water. Overall the site looked really looked after, bins emptied regularly, grass and hedges well cut etc.
Free wifi across the site, we found it to be a good strong signal. Both the lady and gent owners spoke some English, very helpful and friendly.
When we stayed site was nearly full, mainly with short stopovers of French and British traveling to Spain (so sign of workers mentioned on a previous review).
Choice of 4amp, 6amp or 10 amp ehu - for 2 adults with 6 amp we paid €18. 50 - includes showers and wifi.

We stayed here for two nights at the end of April to have a day in Bordeaux on our way home from Spain. Good easy access for caravans from main roads off the 'Rocade' ring road. From the south, come off the A63 at Junction 26 and cut through with decent roads. We arrived without booking and were given a good sized pitch. It is a small site, only 28 pitches some look seasonal. I recommend booking, we were lucky to get in as it was full both nights we were there. We paid 20 euros a night. Some English spoken, enough to book in and give us advice on visiting Bordeaux. We were given a map of Bordeaux showing all the best streets and places to visit. The toilet/ shower/ dishwashing block is modern and spotless as is the chemical disposal. The man who runs the site is in and out several times a day cleaning. Rubbish is recycled. Wifi is free and ok near reception, poor in some areas.
The site is perfect for visiting Bordeaux. The bus stop/ terminus is very close. No. 10 bus costs 1. 50 euros which takes you to the trams. You use the same ticket which is valid for one hour to use the very good trams to the town centre. Only 6 euros for the two of us, there and back! Great, cheap transport system. Cheap all day tickets can be purchased for on/ offs on trams and buses. We walked all around the town centre and riverside in a few hours seeing a lot of the main sites using our map. Bordeaux is well worth a visit.

A great little site of 32 pitches. Easy to get to and easy access to pitches. The lady in reception fantastic and will speak English if you wish. Two nights stay for 42 euros.
No shop or bar on site but two supermarkets a few minutes drive away and a bar two minutes walk. Takeaway can be ordered and delivered.
Drive to the next village and park at the tram stop. Two adults two dogs and parking all day 4. 50euros into Bordeaux centre.
Well worth a visit.

South of Bordeaux. Leave Rocade at junction 16. Good for long or short stays. Smallish site - 27 touring plots with (at time of visit in winter) six taken by local workers. All hard-standing and partially shaded but soft enough for awning pegs. Slightly sloping. Toilets spotless but no paper supplied. Showers spotless and heated. Some English spoken by French owners. Free WiFi.
Good for visiting Bordeaux (bus 200m)and cheaper than alternative site at Camping Bordeaux du Lac.

We have used this site twice, once on the way to Pamploma and the second time on way to Lac de Leon. Good size pitches, site is not large though. Toilet facilities were good. Bus into Bordeaux about 200 Metres away. Good for long or short stay. Ideal for visiting vineyards in the area. Reception staff spoke a little English, this may have altered since we were last there. A site we wouldn't hesitate to use again if travelling that way again.
