We booked onto this site for 15 nights. On arriving we had to go to the fishing lodge to pay and collect our fob for the barrier. The pitch we were allocated was quite close to the busy road and even though the road was a busy one the road noise was ok and didn't disturb our stay there. The caravan and awning were on hardstanding with grass to the side where we put our wind breaks up. Water and electric points were at the side of each pitch which was very handy. Even though the site was full we didn't have to queue at all for the showers in the ladies even though there was only 2 shower cubicles. The showers and toilets were always clean the only problem I encountered was that 2 out of the 4 toilets were without toilet roll for 2 days. The showers were free but when they were both used at the same time the water flow was not very good. There were shops within a 5 minute walk from the campsite eg. Costcutter, general stores similar to B & M Bargains. The sandy beach was a 10 minute walk away (dogs are allowed on that part of the beach). The only thing missing for me was a launderette although there was one a 5 minute drive away but at £4. 00 each wash and £2. 00 for the driers was quite expensive. The fishing lakes were excellent and the staff in the fishing shop were very helpful as we are beginners. I would definitely stay there again. Overall a very clean and peaceful campsite.

We paid £20 a night for a family of four plus a dog including electricity and water. The price reflects the facilities- hard standing with grass to the side and toilet/shower block. There were no other facilities. The site is on the main road into the village so there is traffic noise. The toilet block wasn't very clean even though we saw it being cleaned and we kept our flip flops on in the shower, however there was hot water. There are just 2 hooks in each shower cubicle- not really enough, and nowhere to put shoes or toiletries off the floor so everything got wet. It's quite a walk to local amenities with small children. We booked at the last minute to visit a sick relative and it was the only site with space. We will not be returning due to the poor cleanliness.

Booked 10 nights here early September heatwave most of the stay. The site is well laid out with fully serviced pitches and a brand new toilet / shower block. On arrival you have to book in at the fishing lodge as there is no warden/office on site and we had to tell the lady what pitch we had booked, how much deposit we paid and how much we had to pay. Although the site is hard standing we had to level the van on ramps as the pitch was not level. Because it is a new site there was a lack of grass and with the overnight dew we were walking mud in the awning first thing. The showers were well laid out but they did not drain away properly so you were standing in water to get dried. There were no shelves to put toiletries on, no chair to sit on while drying, no electric shaver point, toilet seat was broken on arrival and still broken when departed, but these were things that could be put right. So although this report sounds bad we are sure it is just teething problems and we will go there again. It's only 10 mins to beach and shops and it's on a good bus route
