Campsite is in a great location, just on outskirts of town and 10 min walk from town centre.
Surrounded by trees and it is secluded and quiet when we visited (this was outside of college term time. )
Not brilliantly signposted it was easy to miss the entrance to site.
Site and facilities well organised, tidy and facilities very clean.
Site managers were not very welcoming and a bit off putting, but not enough to stop us staying again.

A change of management after I had booked.
Was told before that there were no showers but the new folks have put some in.
The site was still a bit run down but looks as if they are on their way to making it look more modernized!

Had to cancel at very short notice due to covid.
A quick reply written very pleasantly and wishing for a speedy recovery.
I do hope to be able to use this site later.

Just home after a very relaxing stay at Garton CL. Lovely rural location, enjoyed watching the numerous variety of birds, rabbits and squirrels play. We were even treated to a Deer visiting one evening.
Owners and warden very helpful, nothing too much trouble.
Originally booked 4 nights, ended up staying for 10 and will definitely be back.

This is a site we use normally once a year, it’s between Ayr and Cumnock, I have family in both locations, so it’s very handy.
Iris who has had the site for many years is absolutely charming, Neil is very helpful with plot advice, and knowledgeable about the surrounding area.
There is no shower block, and so you need to use your own facilities. Don’t be put off, it’s a cracking wee site.
