We picked the site for its proximity to Forrest Hills as we were going to a wedding there on the Saturday. Stayed Friday to Monday in glorious sunny weather. It was an ideal position for the wedding, which started in the Midland hotel in Morecambe. We got there easily by bus, which runs every 10 minutes into Lancaster. We did lovely walks on the Sunday and Monday and swam in the river at Crook o Lune. Very good value at £15pn with hook up and the small shower block was clean and showers free and decent power. However there were only 2 more people in a touring van. If the site had been full, it might have been difficult to get in the shower! Finally, this isn’t an idyllic rural site. The noise of the M6 is constant and the dogs in the animal shelter were loud at times. Neither is it particularly scenic. It’s just about possible to see Morecambe Bay but it’s quite an enclosed site. It was perfect for our needs and we’d return for similar purposes.

Excellent location for LRI. Fox goose pub is grate food friendly atmosphere. The camp site owners r very friendly and it's family run site grate place for animals you see rabbits everywhere and birds as well. There is an animal care right next door with tea room and shop. This is a beautiful place for views you can see all off Lancaster and Morecambe bay and the world famous sunset from the site. It has a lovely little red phone box on site.

We wanted an open all year site to visit Lancaster, and this ticks the box. Regular bus service to the University, (LHS of Hala Hill), and Lancaster, (LHS of Newmarket Ave), within 10-15 minutes walk of the site.

There is a grassy part just as you cross back over the M6, so sturdy foot wear advised.

The site is just being developed, so the toilet/shower block is quite basic, (2 showers and 1 WC each side), but there are plans for a modernised block in the near future. It does have some heating and is kept clean.

We manged to get a pitch which looked over Lancaster, Morecambe Bay and the Lake District hills in the distance. The pitches are set out for statics, so it may be awkward to erect an awning.

There is some M6 noise, but this did not bother us at all. Similarly there is a an animal sanctuary, and some dog barking, but, again, this did not mar our stay. One benefit is that the sanctuary does a good, reasonably priced, breakfast.

Be sure to visit the antiques place, which also has the Lancaster

Brewery, Farm food shops and a very good restaurant. People were queueing to get in. We will definitely return. Very friendly and helpful owners.
