The five pitches are in a part of a cattle pasture cordoned off by barbed wire. A good area for walking and cycling in the Chiltern Hills. There are footpaths from the site through the fields and along the canal tow path. You could also explore the canal by canoe. It should be possible to launch by a nearby road bridge. A highlight for us was walking through Ashridge Forest. It is also close to the start of the Ridgeway Walk at Ivinghoe Beacon. There are a lot of Red Kites in this area and one landed in the next field about 20 yards from our caravan. Awesome! Security on the site is good with a large padlock on the gate. It is possible to turn in and park the caravan in front of the gate whilst enquiring at the farm. It is best to telephone ahead. Facilities are basic, electric hook up and water on the site. The nearby town of Tring is interesting with a section of the London Natural History Museum. Since our visit the museum has now started to charge an entry fee. There is an M&S food in town and a Tesco on the road east towards the A41.
