La Gacilly is a pretty little town in rural Brittany. It is a magnet for artists and the home of the Yves Rocher cosmetic factory.
The campsite is situated on the edge of the town, no more than five minutes walk from the centre.
The campsite used to be a Municipal site but like so many others nowadays it has been recently sold.
Pitches are huge (at least 100m2)and hedged, there are plenty of EHU points around the site although they are sometimes across the road from your pitch so a long cable will be necessary.
The new owners renovated the sanitary facilities in 2012, they are fabulous! They have also added an assortment of chalets & pre-erected tents.
Every day during the summer you will get a note from the owner advising the activities being organised the following day, these include a Caleche (horse & cart) ride and art lessons.
The site has canoes available for hire.
There is a small children's playground but the site has never been full when we've been there so there's plenty of room for them to run around.
There is an open air swimming pool less than a mile from the site, you can get reduced price entry from the site office.
In the town there is a small marina where day boats can be hired. There are a number of bars an restaurants and the usual shops, the supermarket is on the edge of the town about a mile from the site.
