 Sorry everyone - we visited Fatima today and the Aire has been dug up !

No idea if they intend to replace it.

Several MH's were parked up in Car Park 5 - looked as though they intended staying a while. It was pouring down with rain, so very quiet.

As an alternative we went on to Bathala - a World Heritage site. Aire here for 25 and is full. Very nice area right by the Abbey

 If you are visiting the shrine at Fatima this has to be a nigh on perfect stopover.

The aire is part of the car-parks based around the plaza. The pitches are double width, have drainage and a concrete table and bench between each. There is fresh water available and the toilet block for the car park is open 24 hours. No charge for parking or for overnighting on the aire.

You are literally 2 minutes walk from the Basilica and can see it from your pitch.

It is a 24 hour maximum stay but not sure you want want to stay longer as Fatima is easily done in a day.
