A real gemstone CL. Fully serviced pitch, 16 amp EHU, grey waste drain, fresh own water tap. Level dry pitches. Own brick BBQ and picnic table.

Beautiful woodland walks to wear out your springer spaniels. Lots of bird life. A wonderful rural setting with views across the valley.

Midway between the north and south Devon coasts. Wi-Fi too.

The local pub was hardly open but the Clovelly Inn 6 miles away serves good food.

Andy the owner also generates his own electricity so there is a green bonus here. This CL sets a high bar and probably represents all the good factors that make a CL enjoyable at sensible prices.

A good benchmark for other CLs to follow.

This one is in my little black book for a return visit.

We are sat at this site feeling very sad as we are having to leave tomorrow. It is a lovely site where you can just sit and listen to birdsong and the lowing of cattle and feel that you are a million miles from anywhere when in fact you are very central to many places. The pitches are very well tended and extremely spacious with a picnic bench on each one. There is a short woodland walk on site which is again is full of delightful birdsong. It is definitely worth bringing some form of bird feeder with you so you can enjoy the abundance of little birds at close quarters. There is water and electricity on each pitch with grey waste disposal on each as well. The chemical waste point is excellent - very clean and safe to use. There is free wi-if too. All in all somewhere we have loved staying and feel return visits coming on in the future. There is no child friendly rating in my review as it is an adults only site.

Absolute GEM of a site. This CL isn't far from home for us but we fancied a peaceful break.

We arrived on a Friday night and only 2 other units pitched and we managed to get a lovely corner pitch that we could keep our 2 German Shepherds contained in behind a windbreak (and away from other units - so that we were less bothersome to other campers).

Site easy to find from Launceston - last 1. 5 miles is country lane but we only met one other car, but you need to take care.

Pitches are big - a lot of grass( especially on the first pitch as you enter the site on the LHS).

All pitches fully serviced with water and hook up and a picnic bench and a lot of room between pitches.

Lovely views out over the valley. And best of all - COMPLETE SILENCE! No noise ~ bird song and the occasional pheasant. We have never been on a site so quiet. Light pollution extremely low too.

The owners have put a lot of effort, time & money into this site. The best part about it for us was the woodland walk - it is absolutely beautiful with mown paths intertwining with wild flower meadow. We saw so many butterflies, wild flowers and even a big hawk (close up) whilst meandering along the paths with our 2 dogs. The dogs loved it. The owners are extending the walk down to their stream too.

There are no facilities (no loo or shower) but I feel this would spoilt the site and take away it's charm. It is a rural idyll away from the stresses of life - a real hideaway to escape to. Probably the most relaxing stay we've had anywhere (and we have been touring the UK for 10 years in our Motorhome).

The site is ADULT ONLY.

We cannot wait to return. 10 out of 10!

WE found the best way to to Venn Farm coming on the A30 south is to leave before Lanceston at the Bratton Clovelly, Broadwoodwidger, Stowford, Roadford Lake turning across the lake dam uptO Ashwater pirimary school and turn left, follow the road about 3 miles, look out for Scotland Farm on your right carry on about 100 yards there is cream painted house with apot box on the right and turning to Venn Farm is 15 yards in the left. The site it self is well worth a visit, level pitches with hardstanding & fully serviced pitches. Lovely woodland dog walk all grass kept well mown. Television reception is excellent, fre wifi a real bonus. Lovely peaceful site, nearest shop post office 1. 5 miles. Andy is very welcoming and his lovely dark brown hens eggs are great. We will revisit again I, m sure.

We stayed on this adult only site for 6 nights prior to traveling down to the south of Cornwall.

The owner is happy for you to choose your pitch, set up, then go and see him to pay. We had a welcome gift of some lovely fresh eggs ! £12 per night is extremely good value for this lovely CL.

As the previous reviews have stated, the pitches are spacious with a picnic bench, (Hard standing and grass) fully serviced with own water and grey waste. (There is a drive over motorhome waste water point) The site was really quiet with only the sound of farm animals and wildlife. The woodland dog walk is without a doubt the biggest and most pleasant on site dog walk we have ever been on. The free wifi was a real bonus for us, and the re-cycling facility is better than most. The owner has put a lot of time, effort and money into this site.

We visited various places including nearby Launceston and Bude also we enjoyed Widemouth Bay of which has a dog friendly section of the beach.

The lane approaching the farm is narrow and would test the most experienced of drivers, however, the lane is very quiet, and either on the approach to the site, and leaving we didn't meet any vehicles coming the other way!

We would recommend this site for a lovely quiet break - 5 star CL !

Absolutely concur with previous review. This is a fabulous site, with a great deal of thought and care into the design. At £12. 00 per night it is great value with all the facilities on offer. The pitches are large with sufficient room for an awning on either side of the pitch leaving plenty of room for chairs etc. With a picnic bench provided for each pitch - a nice touch! The location on the border of Devon and Cornwall is very well placed to explore Dartmoor and the many nearby beaches, e. G. Tintagel, Padstow and Port Isaac, etc. Fully recommended for tranquillity and relaxation. Will certainly visit again.

We arrived on site, having booked by telephone, for 3 days but immediately impressed by the site decided to extend our stay for a further 3 days.

All the pitches were level and comprised of substantial hardstandings, each being divided by hedging still in its early days of growth. The 5 pitches each had their own water, electrical and wifi connection and picnic bench. The pitches had been arranged in order each had a view across the valley. The birdfeeder on site was in constant use by a wide variety of birds.

The rubbish disposal/recycling facility was situated at the entrance to the site and away from the pitches. The grey and black water disposal was at the opposite end of the site, with the added bonus that there was a drive over disposal for motorhomes.

The dog walk was in the adjacent woodland which had been planted with a large variety of indigenous species of trees, the grass rides were mown with a meadow effect to the sides. At the time of our vist it was awash with wild flowers and the trees breaking out into bloom.

A great deal of thought has been given to the design and layout of both the site and the woodland walk. The nearest shop and public house is approximately a mile down a rather steep quiet country lane but this is more than compensated by the site. As an adult only site the peace and tranquillity on offer here is wonderful.

I highly recommend this site if you are looking for wonderful countryside, quiet and great facilities.
