Spent a very happy 3 nights here on our way south to Lake Constance. Very convenient location near main roads out of Strasbourg if coming from Eastern France. Site is situated in the northern Black Forest region, which we enjoyed visiting by car, plus a day on local trains with free travel courtesy of the tourist tax you have to pay, enabling free public transport travel throughout the Black Forest. Site is very well run with staff able to speak English, and was packed in August as expected - with Canvas Holiday clients and Vacances Soleil chalets as well as touring families like us. Reservations necessary at this time of year. All touring tents had small pitches next to a babbling stream which our children were able to play freely in and which they loved. Proximity to the stream could have been difficult if you had toddlers to keep an eye on though. Good spotless sanitary facilities, no extra charge for showers. Excellent open air pool (Freibad) next door, which campers have free use of: this was a great perk. We didn't use the site restaurant but it seemed very popular. Nearby Steinach has good butchers, bakers, Gasthaus for a meal etc. Overall a good site which we would use again, although tents and motorhomes rather packed in. Site is on the expensive side in line with other local German sites, but use of beautiful open air pool was a big upside for us.

Nice site. Most staff don't speak English, but really pleasant and helpful anyway! Site has lots of Prepitched units for hire, but plenty of room for tourers. We were pitched in the motorhome field, next to a small stream- really nice, but you had to make sure you didn't fall in when wandering about of a night! Facilities a little dated but clean, with free showers. Nice restaurant on site, and a free wifi area next to it ( basically and open sided shed) wifi was too slow to use though. Small playground, not in very good condition. Pool area looked great, though too cold to use when we were there.

A good stopover site.

A great little campsite perfect for family's and couples. We hired a tent through a tour operator but I would definitely recommend taking your own tent or caravan as the pitches looked a great size. The site is well looked after and the toilet/shower blocked was cleaned several times a day. The on site restaurant and bar is great, a little pricey but portion sizes are huge which more than made up for the price. Found the on site shop to be a little bit sparse but there is a range supermarkets a short drive away. The pool complex is just next door to the site and is brilliant with loads of open space to relax in the sun and even enjoy a picnic. The campsite gates close during the afternoon so no cars can get in or out, we found is a little strange at first but got used to it. I have never stayed on a site with such a relaxed calming atmosphere and it really is a gem.
