This is a working farm so if you are looking for an immaculately manicured perfectly flat pitch in a holiday park setting then this is not the site for you. What you get is a very large field that is used for grazing cattle for part of the year. Mostly the field has a very slight gradient which is barely noticeable, although it slopes more near the hedge on the south/west side. The biggest problem is the hoofmarks around the edges of the field! There are 3 or 4 water taps dotted round the perimeter but it can be quite a long walk to the toilets. There is also a smaller field with a few electric hook-up points, and additional hard standing for a few motorhomes.
We were there for 3 weeks which included TT fortnight. The site was fully booked only because the owner restricts it by the number of people, not by cramming in as many tents as possible. We did see some tents pitched rather close but there were also some quite large pitches still available. Groups can of course pitch as close together as they are comfortable with.
When the site is full there is the inevitable queue for showers but I never saw a queue for toilets. In addition to the single sex toilet and shower blocks there are 2 unisex showers and 2 unisex bathrooms. They were kept clean and frequently serviced which must be a full-time job when the site was busy. There is also a potwash facility, drying room for wet gear, and an undercover bike park. I would have liked an on-site laundry facility but this is just laziness on my part as there is a launderette about 2 miles away in Ramsey.
For socialising there is a large barn containing tables and seating. There is free Wi-Fi though it can be difficult to get a connection at busy times. There is a pool table, ping-pong table and table soccer, plus a few books. There are a few toys but otherwise no real provision for children. Here you will find charging points for phones etc, fridges and a freezer, toaster and microwave, and free tea and coffee. It also functions as an information point with details of local facilities, attractions and events, and notices about TT schedules and road closures etc. During the TT there was a trailer providing cooked breakfasts.
The site is on the main road about 2 miles west of Ramsey, where there are plenty of shops, pubs and places to eat. Many will also deliver to the campsite. There is a bus stop just outside or you can walk if you're feeling energetic. Despite being on the TT course, the camping field is set away from the road, next to the river. It's very peaceful when the bikes aren't screaming down the road, and it was the birds, not the traffic, that woke me up each morning.
For TT fans you have the added bonus of being able to watch the racing from the front field for free. The downside is that you cannot easily drive anywhere while the roads are closed (although you could park on the other side of the river and cross on foot)
Fiona, the owner, is a down-to-earth, extremely helpful person with the patience of a saint but very little tolerance for rude and disrespectful people. If you have a genuine love of the outdoors, and don't mind farmyard smells, you should feel at home here.

Fantastic campsite more facilities available than in some homes!
I will be back this year if I can for MGP. I have one bugbear with this website. Facilities nearby 5 miles away? that's Peel. Ramsey is a half hour walk and then lots of facilities. Longer time taken on the way back of course!

We loved this site. We were warmly welcomed by Fiona, and were provided with loads of information about the site and the area.
We chose to camp in a field with hook-up. There didn't seem to be many hard-standing options with hook-up so I suppose in wet seasons it might be less ideal. But we were very happy in our field.
The facilities are excellent - ample toilets and showers, plus a couple of lovely snug family shower rooms (shower, toilet, sink, radiator)and endless hot water.
The nicest thing about this site is the barn. It is well-equipped with fridge, freezer and kettle, and the owners have provided tea / coffee etc. There is also free wifi, to the delight of our teenage daughter. The barn is a nice, warm, dry social space to meet other campers.
The site itself is a working farm, and we enjoyed the roaming cats and chickens. Our daughter loved the animals, especially the calf. There was the option to explore further but we just didn't have the time - hopefully in the future we can return and take advantage of the activities on offer. It was a bit of a dear do for us as we didn't take advantage of the activities, but given more time we would have got much better value for our money.
Silly Moo's is just outside of Ramsey, a short bus ride into the town itself and within easy reach of other attractions.
This is an excellent site for families, highly recommended.

This is a working farm. A very warm welcome was received on arrival. Lots of useful information was given in paper format as well as verbally. We were directed onto the 'big' field where there were already lots of tents and campervans set up for the TT period.
Careful to select a pitch for the motorhome that looked firm enough for our outfit we settled in for the first night. All the usual facilities you would expect on a campsite. Toilets, showers, water taps, waste water tanks, chemical toilet disposal provision, a 'bonus' leisure area with free wi-fi, a breakfast area where cooked breakfasts were served up for those who wished to partake, a phone charge area and microwave, toaster and a kettle provided for campers. Anyone staying in a tent would have their needs provided for. For bikers, an undercover bike park is provided.
Lovely walks from the bottom of the field to the Garey Ford road. Good for dog walkers. It is possible to walk to Ramsey (about 2 miles away) from the site or up Sky Hill and you can watch the TT races from the owners fields which front onto the course. Brilliant spectator views!
During our first night the heavens opened and we were unable to move the motorhome off the field. We were rescued by the farmer who tractored us off the field next day. After that we parked up on the farmyard area. The field really is chancey if you have a heavy outfit and there's been heavy rain.
For TT period there are a limited number of electric points available. We managed with the generator as no electric points were available when we booked (8 months prior to our stay).
The owners are very hospitable, accommodating and helpful. They really are making a go of this site although, I would probably say that the site is best geared up for tenters. It was very busy for the 12 nights we stayed there over the TT period and there was a good atmosphere around the whole site.

Stayed 3 nights for TT period 2014. Received a warm welcome on arrival, pleasant site, not overcrowded, good clean facilities, friendly but laid-back atmosphere. Covered parking area for motorcycles, cooked breakfasts served every morning. Generally quiet at night but one or two inconsiderate individuals who made some noise at night. This sort of thing is common during the TT period!
Local bus stops right outside site entrance but Ramsey is within walking distance. We would definitely use the site again.
