Didn't really know what to expect before turning in to this site. We'd booked in for a 2 night stopover on our way up to Scotland. Having not found many reviews. We just took a chance, believing that the C&CC wouldn't accept a poor standard campsite under their banner. What we found was a Lovely little site with hard standing, very friendly, helpful, informative people. No toilet/showerblock but we knew this before arrival so not a problem for us. 10A EHU was sufficient for our needs, although our friends elec kept tripping. We put this down to the fact they were using a domestic kettle instead of the lower wattage camping kettle we used (aside from the heating and everything else they had switched on lol) once they realised this and switched to gas kettle all was fine. Ours never tripped once so no probs there. Good value for money at £14 per night. We would love to visit this little site in the warmer months. There does seem to be plenty lovely walks and places to see locally. And of course pubs by the canal. Definitely expect to visit this site again. As the previous reviewer stated 'it's a little gem'

I don't want to leave a good review for this site (selfishly I want it to remain as peaceful as it is) but I am going to have to! We have just spent 1 night on an outstanding site, beautifully laid out with colourful flower beds and with large level hard standing pitches for motorhomes and caravans.
This is a basic chill out site - there are no toilets or showers, no playground for children, no shop or take-away – just peace and quiet and spotlessly clean with glorious country views all round. Dog friendly with plenty of good walks, and only a few minutes from the towpath of the Lancaster Canal.
The owners Trevor and Susan are friendly and welcoming - when I phoned to enquire about a pitch I was told just to pull into the field and set up on the first vacant pitch – no “report to the office and hand over your money” first. In fact I had to find Trevor to pay him before we could leave! The site tariff covers everything – pitch, awning, 2 adults, 2 dogs and 10amp hook-up – all for £13 – superb value.
This site is one we will definitely be returning to, and spending longer visits as this time we only stayed 1 night trying out our new motorhome and awning.
