Bush Farm Bison Centre: Visited in late August. I was welcomed by the owner, a charming man called Colin. Colin helped me when my car would not start. There are eight pitches in the wooded area, the pitches are very secluded.
I initially visited for three nights but liked it so much, I added an extra two nights. The facilities are basic but very usable. There are drinking water stands and a site for emptying chemical toilets.
The site is set is a secluded and very quiet valley away from traffic noise. The decent down the hill to the site by road reveals some wonderful scenic views.
The site is close to the spectacular Fonthill Estate with it's wonderful Beckford Arms Pub, Tisbury, Shaftesbury and Salisbury, Stone Henge and Wardour castle, (£8. 00 to get into the castle which has three floors).
The woodland site can get muddy, if you are 'tenting', pitch your tent on top of a tarpaulin to make life easier.
It cost £12 a night to stay at Bush Farm Bison Centre during the time of my visit.
Thank you Colin for making me feel welcome and for your assistance with my car. I hope to see you again soon.

Absolutely fabulous place to stay.
Woodland walk through the trees and around the fences was stunning.
I always love it when there's a step in the toilets so the little ones can reach the sink too, thank-you!

Lovely site with good sized pitches and clean facilities.
We only stopped for one night on our motorbike trip down to Cornwall but would happily recommend the site.

Really disappointing
Not the peaceful retreat that the website and reviews would have you believe it was.
We had one wonderful tranquil night, followed by raucous mayhem of inconsiderate large groups in a field (that I didn't even realise was used for camping) between us, in the pod, and the serenity that had been the farm and poor animals.
Everyone from that field was traipsing through the pod field with lights and torches looking at us like we were some exhibit! Horrible experience when we only wanted to get away from it all for a few days.
Luckily we had a door to shut as we wouldn't have slept through the noise in our tent.
Shame, as the owners are lovely, location idyllic, grounds gorgeous but it was so rowdy we only returned to go to bed once the crowds descended, louder than at home in town.
Facilities inadequate for so many people, but fine on first night
Value for money on night one was brilliant, the second 2 were torturous so not worth it at all!
Based on our first night I would give the site 10/10
The noisy inconsiderate groups and deluge of people, camper doors slamming at all hours, swearing and shouting through the night etc etc ( not what we expected of the site when booking) means I would not recommend the site at all.
Therefore I've given 5/10.
Shame as I had high hopes for this quiet site.

Fantastic site! We booked a pitch in the woods and it was magical.
At dawn it felt like you were in a rainforest with all the bird noise (take earplugs).
There is a lovely farm walk and a further woodland area with stunning oaks and mixed broadleaf trees including some unusual specimens.
Owners really welcoming and friendly.
Clean toilets.

Beautiful site with individual pitches in the woods that felt very private.
The amenities were very basic - two sinks for washing up, one shower for men and one for women for the whole site but the beauty of the place made up for that.

I loved this site. All the atmosphere of wild camping in the woods, but with loos and showers (£2).
I was greeted by two massive owls when I parked up to check in, then met the very nice owners who showed me to my pitch in the woods which had a firepit and loads of space.
I went for a wander to see the elk and bison but I couldn't find them :( I did see donkeys, guinea fowl and a turkey. Really good value for money, would recommend.
