Please note we have been advised that the touring part of this site is now permanently closed, and no longer offers camping, motorhome or caravanning pitches. It now has holiday homes for sale only.
If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

Rang the owner the night before intending to travel to check if had availability, and luckily he did. Needed a caravan site nearby son's college in Loughborough, in order to collect him, and make the most of the bank holiday.
We reported at the reception, was issued a fob for the automatic barrier, and given 1 x key to the toilet/shower block. Owner advised that once the caravan was on, it was to remain for the full period, he raised an additional barrier, allowing the caravan clearance, and took us to our pitch, and directed us to a grassed area, just beyond the bridge, no issue clearing the bridge, and have 26ft unit, was told could choose any ehu available.
It was a basic site, but clean, and it covered everything that we needed to have an enjoyable stay. We regularly saw the owner, patrolling the site, busy addressing any needs, waved as he passed.
Wandered around the site, appeared there was a lot of permanent caravan pitches, same with the marina, lots of permanent boats moored. People were welcoming/pleasant, bidding us good morning etc.
We had intended to go to the bar, located near reception, but after a busy day out, and as we had our young grandchildren with us too, didn't get there, kids were too busy playing out with the other children.
Close to local amenities, CostCutter etc. Would we go again, yes probably, we would.

Very busy park caravans close together. Toilets on site but not modern, marina at the bottom of a steep hill looking very untidy with late night noise.
Club house on site again noisy not ideal for a regular family with children. I have stayed in better for a lot less pitch charge but its ok if needed.
Security is a gate with a lock. Owner I'm told is now NOT on site

Very pleasant site, great views of the marina and the river, ample dog walks, good feeling of security at night. There was a pub on site, with village facilties close by. I was given a choice - upper part of the site where I was going to be too close to the next caravan from the fire safety point of view, or at the bottom of the site - ample space, but remote from the toilets.
Criticisms were that although we were given a key to the gate, there appeared to be only one key to the height barrier, and it seemed to me that if the owner was not on site, an ambulance crew would have had to walk 0.5 km to where I was placed.
The toilet block was almost as far away, so that I had to transport my toilet cassette in the car to empty it. My electric cable had to lie across a hardcore road to the connection point, and vehicles were running over it and damaging it. Watch out on the bridge to the lower part - I saw outfits grounding as they went over - most unpleasant noise! Hopefully some of these points have since been rectified, as I did raise them with the owner before leaving. If you can get onto the upper part of the site, and have the required minimum distance between you and the next caravan, then it is a great site

February 2005 Busy park that's attached to a marina. The owner, who was very friendly, admitted when we arrived that he doesn't really want to accept touring caravans, as they "mess up the grass". Pitches are smallish and slightly sloping, and facilities are adequate but basic in presentation. Security is good, though.
