We're delighted to advise that Siblyback Lake has reopened for camping, and once again offers pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes.

Stayed here over the bank holiday. It's a lovely setting, right by the side of the reservoir but that can tend to mean it gets a bit windy. Obviously this is helpful if you want to go wind surfing on the lake but it bear it in mind! There's a mix of electric and non electric pitches. The pitches are a good size, some only suitable for motor homes, and they're stepped on 3 to 4 levels.
The facilities are good. The loos are clean and warm - they' were cleaned every evening when we were there. The showers are in the changing rooms that are used by people using the lake. There are a couple of cubicles but they don't have an area in them to put your clothes so you have to leave them in the changing area. There are also 'group' showers. The ladies does have a separate disabled wet room that you can use of you want to. There is a cafe on site but we didn't use it so I can't comment about it.
They do allow dogs on the site at no extra charge. There's a dog exercise area and you can also take them on the walk around the lake. They have to be kept on a lead and out of the lake.
There's also a nice bird hide at the lake side if you want to do a spot of bird watching.
When we were there, there weren't many people using the lake facilities so I don't know how busy or noisy it gets during opening hours, but the campsite is set to one side, away from the pontoons so I don't think you'll be bothered by too many people milling around your tent. Once the place shuts it becomes very quiet and peaceful. No road noise, no street lights, just the ducks and geese.
The road to the campsite is quite hairy. It's very narrow and although there are quite a few passing places, I wouldn't like to meet a motor home coming in the opposite direction - it's quite a squeeze for 2 cars to pass!
We paid £12 a night with EHU which is very good value. If you want a quiet site with no club in a lovely setting then this site is ideal.

We camped at site with two children (adults) and grand children for Friday and Saturday night.
The Camping field is right by the lake with great views and great sunsets.
The site was very quiet for August, especially in the evening when the day visitors leave
On the lake there is trout fishing, sailing, canoeing, wake boarding and other water sports.
Also great play area for children and great walks around the lake-All the way round aprox 3. 5 miles.
There good toilets, showers, water taps and washing up room.
There is electric hook ups for motorhomes.
Being near Bodmin moor there are plenty of local attractions
There are villages nearby with shops and pubs.
' A Great Family Site'
