 Reviewers - mature couple with campervan and bikes
We have stayed at this campsite some years back and fancied revisiting the area. It is situated right on the coast, opposite a sandy beach. It is terraced, with chalets right at the top, and other static accomodation at the bottom.
There is a barrier at the entrance, which is usually up during the day.
We were greeted by 'Monsieur' who seems to be around a lot, stays on the site in a van. He speaks some English and is very friendly. He showed us a couple of pitches to choose from, then took my ACSI card off me, stuck it in his pocket and wandered off, saying to pay before we left.
The site was quite full, and the big vans looked as though they had been shoehorned in end to end. We chose a pitch raised up away from them just off the roadway, it was only suitable for a small van like ours. We did have a sea view though, just.
There is a cafe bar next to the reception at the entrance and a playground for small children.
The sanitary block is mixed, a bit old fashioned, water was hot, and the place was clean enough. There is a washing up area under cover and a laundry.
There is a general store almost next door where you can buy bread, plus a takeaway/cafe. Otherwise you have to go to St Maxime, about 5k away. We cycled in, but the road is very busy, with lots of bends, and no cyclepath for most of it. St Maxime is a pretty seaside town with a newly refurbished marina area.
The beach opposite the site is accessed down a few steps. The tide comes right up to the sea wall. There are no facilities here, but plenty of room to park in the layby at the side of the road.
The site is convenient for visiting the popular seaside towns in the area, and gives ACSI discount.
