Please note we have been advised that this site has closed, and no longer offers camping, motorhome or caravanning pitches. If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

When we arrived at the site, we knew we'd made a good choice! The site is lovely, clean and tidy. There is one toilet and one shower, which was spotless and quite adequate for a small site. There is a Firepit under cover which was also great and the owners were very nice and helpful too. Not lots to do on site but the local area certainly makes up for it, what with the local canal sided pub Old Nell's ( Guys Thatched Hamlet ) and also the Whitebull and Roebuck. The village shop has everything you need, also a chippy next door. Lots of walks in the area and surrounding areas too. The owners also let us stay 30 minutes longer till 12. 30. I could go on and on, but to cut a long story short, this site is a little gem and we will certainly be returning.

A nice clean site with welcoming owners, there is a shower and toilets which are kept clean and checked during the day, unfortunately as yet there is only one shower and most mornings you had to queue ! It is only a short walk to the various pubs and village shops. On a down side the trains that run past the site are noisy and run during the night, also the traffic on the busy A6 can be heard night and day !

Our biggest gripe with this site is you cant arrive until after 2pm and you have to leave by 10-30 !

On arrival we were asked about payment and advised that there were no card facilities (we had been advised of this prior to our arrival) on presentation of my cheque book we were told there were no facilities to take a cheque and were given directions to the local shops and the cash point. The caravan was not even unhitched at this point.

The site is clearly a work in progress. There is a new toilet and a shower. One of each only to serve all of the campers and caravanners! There has been additional provision of toilet facilities by means of a porta-cabin. One additional toilet for the ladies and 2 cubicles and 2 urinals for the men. It was just lucky that the site wasn't busier as I could imagine the queues, especially in the rain. The toilet facilities made no provision for hand drying and apparently no-one was able to replace a toilet roll into a holder; when there was toilet roll available! On a positive note though the facilities were always very clean and the shower very good.

The site did accept dogs however, there was no clear guidelines as to where to exercise them even when asked.

The rubbish disposal area was disorganised. It looked like there were different containers in an effort to recycle the rubbish but none of the bins were labelled so everyone just piled the bags into one bin which was overflowing.

There is a child's play area with one slide and a communal fire pit, which we felt was a good idea.

One of the main problems was relating to the level of noise on the site, mostly caused by the site owners. I'm amazed they think that a delivery of 20 tonnes of hard core at 8am on our first morning counts as a relaxing break. On the second morning the site owners car had a Valet which started with a jet wash again before 8am. Later that same day the heavy diggers started work at 6pm right at the back of where the caravans are sited. On top of all this there are frequent freight and intercity trains running along the track at the back of the site. Hardly the relaxing break we had hoped for. So much so we left early, something we have never felt the need to do before in our 14 years of camping and caravanning.

On the whole a disappointing time away when there are numerous other sites in the area that deliver a more organised and professional approach. We should have gone with something we knew rather than trying something new, on this occasion!

We brought our touring caravan for the first time to this site and what an amazing place! The facilities are brilliant - granted the site is still undergoing some work but considering we were so happy with it. The fire pit looks like it is going to be brilliant! A place to warm up cook and socialise all under a tiled gazebo.

There are some lovely walks and pubs in the area so def worth a visit.

We shall certainly be staying again - I'm already excited! So different to normal sites and a good atmosphere!

We stayed in the Megapod and loved it! Utensils provided, fitted sheet a great wooden caravan. Tv which was a bonus for when the kids were tired. Lovely decking area where we could relax at night (when the weather allowed!)

The site is still undergoing construction but I will be visiting when they've finished

The site is conveniently located by the canal with lots of pubs and restaurants a short walk away. There is a well stocked shop again only a short walk away.
