Loved this site, what was not to like. So peaceful and quiet yet only 7 miles from Oxford. Reminded me of being at home, with all the wild life around, particularly the red kites.
No toilet facilities but we knew this when we booked.
We had EHU, somewhere to empty the toilet cassette and collect fresh water. There was a black post box for you to put the money in for the owner to collect.
It was £18 per night for our motorhome and space for our awning if we wished to use.
We were on our way to Peterborough so only stayed one night but this little gem of a campsite is now on our list for a return visit in the future.

Thankfully a lot can happen in the five years since the last review of this lovely CL. I've been here four times over the last year and love it. The entire field is south facing so how the previous reviewer could have been in the shade the whole time is anyone's guess! The chemical waste has been tidy on every visit as has the whole site been in every respect. There's no toilet or shower facilities but that is the same as most all CLs I go to.
Ron is a fantastically friendly host and have always been extremely helpful with booking and giving ideas for local walks and or pubs to visit.
There's horses in the adjacent fields, lots of pheasants and rabbits about as well as hawks and other birds with beautiful open views over the fields. Plenty of nearby walks and quick access to both Abingdon and Oxford, with a lovely local pub a short walk away. A better escape I can't imagine.
I can highly recommend this site.

This CL is in the pretty litle village of Marsh Baldon, tucked in behind the Seven Stars pub. It's in a long, narrow field which is uneven in some places, but the 5 pitches are level and are numbered. Motorhomes are asked to use pitches 1 and 2.
As the field is so narrow, it doesn't feel particularly spacious, and some vans are quite near their neighbours. We were on pitch no. 5 which is furthest from the gate and much bigger than the others, but under trees so in the shade all the time.
The chemical disposal was one of the worst we've come across in a CL. It was very full so on lifting the manhole cover there was sewage almost up to the lid. It was near our pitch and we saw others flinch when they lifted the lid.
The pub is owned by the villagers and is very nice, but is more of a gastro-pub than somewhere to go for a pint. The food was very good and the pub is so popular that booking is recommended.
This is a lovely part of Oxfordshire but I doubt we would stay in this site again. For the same price it's possible to find CL's with more space and even with shower facilities.
