Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Braithwaite House campsite,
Grounds are fantastic and had the pleasure of staying in the orchard which is seemingly a rarity.

It was a brilliant stay, the campsite was well equipped with amenities and a better power shower than a lot of hotels.
It was clean and tidy with everyone appearing to respect social distancing.
The area is beautiful and lots to do nearby. Definitely recommend Whitlatter, Honister Pass and Kirkstone Pass for some amazing views.
The only slight issue was not having shops in walking distance but it was ok as not too far to drive.
Great customer service when booking and organising, we didn’t meet with any staff on site as friends checked in for us and we didn’t have any issues.

Brilliant 3 days, apart from all the rain but hey it’s the Lake District.
The site is beautiful and has plenty to do for children and lovely dog walks too.
Social distancing measures in place at the extremely lovely toilet and shower units.
The owners are really helpful and friendly.
I would highly recommend this place and my children are desperate to return.

Extremely chilled site (to the point where we weren't sure we had a booking as they were pretty useless with email communication).
Beautiful grounds and surrounding countryside, but be careful that you pitch exactly in the right place, as parts of the turf are laid on stony ground, so impossible to get pegs in at all in those parts.
Fantastic toilet blocks, with private units - shower/ toilet/ basin (although the racks for toiletries and toilet roll kept falling off the walls as they were secured with suckers - could prob do with screwing them in to save ruining the toilet paper!), and excellent play areas for young children with a goat and chickens.
Slight shame that when the boys that live in the house came out to play (assuming they are the children of the owners) on the site, they were a little rude and just not very nice to younger camping children.

If you want to recharge yourself from the hustle and bustle of life by relaxing in the Cumbrian countryside on a campsite which has an imposing distant view of the solway Firth and enjoy the nature all around in the trees, the wildlife, and the whole of the atmosphere which Blaithwaite has to offer then I wholeheartedly recommend that you visit.
The nearest town is Wigton which is a Market town. We have regularly had holidays at Blaithwaite both long holidays and shorter breaks and it gave my wife and our children life long cherished memories.
You are conveniently situated for days out to visit the historic city of Carlisle and numerous other towns and attractions in Cumbria. We need to come home again to Blaithwaite which will be sooner than later since it felt like home.
