Lovely area, excellent site. Good sanitary facilities, everything very clean and respecting of the current regulations.

Very friendly and helpful owners. Quiet site, plenty of hot water, not overcrowded.

There is a good restaurant on site with plenty of choice. WiFi free, reliable and accessible. A good choice for the end of this season. Plenty to do and see in the region. Interesting restaurants in nearby Puy l’Eveque.

Lots of places to taste and buy wine. Spectacular views over the river Lot when travelling around.

A small site run for years by a very pleasant and helpful Dutch family.

We spent a very enjoyable few days here in August. Site is well laid out, though some of the pitches were sloping, all were quite large, some of which at the top have fantastic views over the Lot valley.

As before, most of the units were Dutch. There was one other British, two Germans and two French. All the Dutch were without exception friendly and always acknowledged anyone they met.

Washing up area, toilets and showers were tidy and clean.

The pool was good for the size of site, though on the warmer days could get quite busy, but never people soup standard. We had it to ourselves for hours one day when it was a little overcast and a little cooler. There was a ball playing area in the middle with a volleyball net. Also a decent tennis court for use too without charge. A circus visited one night. We did not attend, but lots of the Dutch and locals went and sounded like they had a good time. One of the local French, who was obviously very friendly with the owners, sold wine one evening from his van. Good value too.

The restaurant and bar had a decent and well-priced menu, which for my family of six provided a very good value for money meal. Six of us with drinks and hot chocolates under € 60. House Rose was pleasant after a busy day.

There is a steep path down to the river from the site. Well more of a set of stairs really, though it is worth the climb down and then up again.

The Cahors area is very pleasant, with a good market. Parking on street was available.

Would we go back again? Very probably to the site, almost certainly to the area.

 Stayed here for four nights.

Smallish site, run by Dutch family: most of the other units were Dutch (with a few British, and fewer French).

Pleasant, smallish pool with separate paddling pool. Good, clean washblocks, with bar selling snacks, a la Carte menu in the evenings, and take away. Some very steep steps take you down to the Lot river edge.

Animation team organised some low key things whislt we were there.

Puy L'eveque is a pleasant small town (6km bike ride away). Fumel (larger town) is further but has full range of supermarkets etc. Nearby (15kms) is Chateau Bonaguil is a must see.

NB: if you tow a caravan, don't follow Sat Nav. Drive to Duravel then south on D58 to roundabout with D8 and then towards site.

To Find Site:- From Cahors take D811 in the direction of Fumel. In about 35 kms in Duravel turn left at roundabout in town to Vire-sur-Lot. After crossing narrow river bridge turn right at road junction onto D8 signed for Touzac. The site is just before you get to Touzac and is signed on the right. (It might be worth switching off any sat navs for the final stretch as its likely to take you down some unsuitable roads)

Camping Le Ch’timi is situated high above the River Lot, although there is access from the site. It is owned by a lovely Dutch family who, of course, speak excellent English. It is quite Park like in appearance with many mature trees. The 80 touring pitches are on grass and are of a good size. The nature of the site which slopes down from reception to the entrance means there will be some need to level units and some pitches are more level than others. Electric connections are rated at 6amps and accept CEE17 European blue connectors. Water points are dotted frequently around the campsite. The nice quality toilet block is next to reception. It contains seated toilets, paper is provided but not in the cubicles. There is a separate disabled toilet next the laundry room on another part of the site. On the other side of reception is a bar/restaurant are which has both indoor and outside seating. We enjoyed our meal at the restaurant which was well presented and good value. The site has a rather nice swimming area just in front of reception. Children are well catered for with a playground for small ones and table tennis and volley ball for the older ones. Reception stocks a few essentials, including fresh milk and bread can be ordered the day before. Free WiFi is available, officially in the bar area but I was able to pick it up on my pitch with a signal booster. The D8 road runs along one side of the campsite so there is a little traffic noise at certain times of day but we did not find it overly intrusive. During the low season the site accepts the ACSI discount card and the site can be booked by the Caravan Club ABS service. We found this campsite quite charming as we did the owners and for those looking for a relaxing and peaceful it is well worth considering.

The Lot Valley perhaps plays second fiddle to the Dordogne but that is a shame as it has it’s own charm. It is perhaps best suited to those with their own transport although for the fit there are cycling opportunities. There is access directly to the river from the campsite but this is down a long steep set of steps, although we did not investigate there is a sign to a canoe station on the banks of the river. For shopping there are supermarkets at Fumel, Puy L’Eveque and Prayssac.
