Ashen Plain's Wood is in a lovely location. Easy to get to and close to town. Although we are used to camping were there are few amenities. The site has everything you'd need. Hot showers, a place to wash up, store the milk and charge our phones.
The firepits are lovely with plenty of wood. The kids love the walks and playing with the other lovely families that stay there. Not forgetting the lovely horses.
Julie and Dave are very friendly, approachable and responsive to requests. Nothing is too much trouble.
The kids can't wait to come back again soon.

This is a great campsite. Each pitch is spacious and surrounded by fruit trees- the photos don't do it justice!
The toilets and showers were cleaned regularly, and the pub and outdoor seating area is excellent.
We will definitely be coming again!

They found a hook up for us as we had a problem with our fridge on gas. Very helpful all round.
Lovely field. Just difficult access.
Enjoyed watching the horses.
Great space for children to run.
Quarry and sculpture trail nearby.

One of the most peaceful and relaxed campsites I have ever had the pleasure of staying at.
The site is beautiful and spacious and the owner is very accommodating and friendly.

A fantastic campsite. I find it unbelievable this is the first review.
We visited this campsite last August in our bright yellow Bumble Camper. Despite being peak summer season the spacious grounds and beautiful surroundings made our stay peaceful and with space to spread out and relax.
The shower block facilities were just being updated and I'm sure by now they are all up and running and modern.
You need a car (or campervan), or a good pair of legs get around but closeby is a nice pub and a woodland walk.
What it lacks in facilities are definitely made up for by the friendly welcome of owners Dave and Julie. We will definitely return to this campsite and recommend to others.
