 A nice enough site for a stopover. Easy to find as per CAMC directions. It would seem that the sign, entrance and gate have been upgraded.
A friendly owner who will soon appear when you arrive, points out the facilities (£20 per night a bit much), then leaves you alone. Plenty of local shops, nearest + fuel at the service station by the motorway junction.
The site is pretty enough with the fishing lakes and bluebells, but the area is lacking in good walks.
Rochester has a Roman fort and museum which was disappointingly closed when we went there

We found this site absolutely stunning clean toilets, brilliant lake with plenty fish, we've been here loads of times and won't stop coming Near to Blackpool, morecambe, and Preston 10 mins away, Dave has caught plenty fish going again this week end

I agree with everything in Dot P's review, but would like to add that the facilities were spotlessly clean, and also what a delightful place Red Rocks Fishery is to stay. I couldn't decide which I liked best - looking out at the sheep grazing in the fields and the lights of the town in the distance in the evening, or the morning light over the lakes and the peaceful sight of people fishing. It was delightful, quiet and peaceful.

We were looking for somewhere around Preston not too far from the M6 for an overnight stop. Found this in the CC booklet, 5 van CL with ehu which sounded perfect.
Its just about 1 1/2 mile from M6, an easy run through wide lanes. On arrival on Potter Lane be careful - sign for site well hidden in trees. We went straight past and in less than 1/2 mile you reach end of the road and nowhere to turn around with ease.
Site is behind main house, 1/4 mile up a well trodden driveway. The 5 pitches are sited in a circle with planting n the middle so you aren't looking at each other. Ehu on each pitch, water tap, chem disp, pitches are hard standing amongst grass. Toilet in a shed, perfectly clean does its job well, no showers.
At £13 for a night we thought this site did exactly what we needed and would use again. Owner was friendly and helpful so all in all a bargain for the price.
