Our 3rd visit of the year. Pitches on slight slope but easy enough with a couple of blocks under front steadies, there are lovely views across the field to Riber Castle. Facilities are excellent with 16amp hook-up, two loos/showers(free) & dish washing with hot water, (& Fairy Liquid!). A 15min walk to main road for X17 Matlock - Sheffield bus, which runs hourly. We walked 30min to the 'Scotland' garden nursery & had a !st rate lunch, with friendly staff. There is a lake which is nice to walk around before retiring, though folk with small people will need to keep them clear as it's unfenced. Our only wish is they install some hard standing pitches then they could open longer! Thank's Karen for our enjoyable stays, see you next year.

We found this site whilst looking at the online reviews and matching them with Google maps and streetview. This site appeared tranquil and with easy access and though with limited reviews on this site, it looked ideal, so we went ahead and booked for 3 nights.
Well we were not disappointed, the site has easy access for a motorhome or caravan etc, and is only a few miles from Matlock. The site is huge and has 6 EHU points and a further 10 or so unserviced pitches all around the edge of two large fields. There are good views across to the Peak's but the site does offer some protection from the wind with stone walls and trees. The toilet block (two showers, 2 toilets and washing up facilities) are a little dated but quite sufficient and useable, with service points outside for various waste and water. There is a nice walk (dog walk) around the large fish pond (no fishing) but it is also easily accessible so may not be suitable for young children. Just opposite the local farm sells fresh milk 24/7 and just up the road the otherway free range eggs are available. The site is at the top of the hill so whilst it is walkable from Matlock, it will be UPHILL on the way home !
There are a number of nice pubs in walking (3 - 4 miles) or driving distance. One we found, Old Poets Corner in Ashover is about 3 miles away does excellent food at very good prices and is a freehouse with lots of local ales and it even has its own micro-brewery.

It was our first trip of the year. We arrived very late, but we were welcomed on our arrival. The facilities were excellent, clean and more than adequate for a cl. The grass was freshly cut, and the whole site was really clean. The only shame was the lake appeared to be stocked with carp but no fishing was allowed. We will certainly be returning soon.

Absolutely fantastic!
A beautiful location close to Bakewell and Matlock Bath.
The site enjoys stunning views. They were just in the process of installing a massive lake while we were there which will be lovely.
There are two large fields, one with ehu and one without. They fields are slightly sloped.
There are two showers and three loos in a purpose built block incorporating a washing up area. These are the best CS loos and showers I have come across today - a modern and clean facility.
The owner Mrs Shaw is very friendly as is her family.
I paid in the region of £12 per night for 1 adult and 2 children inc ehu - very reasonable!
