This is a charming site with "old-fashioned" shrub hedgings, very close to the amazing Vauban fortifications which you are quickly into on foot from the campsite.
There are many lovely places to visit within half an hour or less.
The manager (and her partner) were super hospitable and helpful, so very pleasant and keen to help even when we were being obtuse about getting into the electric cabinet.
The negative was out of their hands in that it was so oppressively hot we couldn't do very much, particularly with having dogs. And the other problem was that because it was so dry there were innumerable bobbly things and seeds which attached themselves to the dogs.

A bit of a lucky find, really, having tried several sites on the Wine Route in Alsace, all very crowded and unappealing.
An encouraging start with a very friendly and helpful welcome. The site was not too crowded, and I was able to choose from a range of pitches, settling on a spacious area in a far corner of the site.
Although not on the bike this trip, it was encouraging to see an area reserved for cyclists and walkers. Facilities were absolutely fine and clean, if not as elaborate as those on some sites, but the charges were very reasonable.
The big attraction of course, is Neuf Brisach itself, and the spectacular fortifications. The area between the inner and outer ramparts made fora great circumnavigation with the dog, with many examples of installation art "installed" at different places on the way round.
The town itself is well placed for trips to Colmar and the wine villages of Alsace to the West, or the Schwarzwald to the East. This would be a fine base for a few days spent exploring the area.
I would happily stay there again.

A great site located within walking distance of the fortified town of Nerf-Brisach.
We spent 12 nights here. The site is spacious with free pitching and caters for all types of campers from solo cyclists to caravans and motorhomes. New arrivals will be heard hammering the pegs in the ground (rock pegs anyone).
A bike is a great option as there is loads of flat cycling to be had down various canals and the river Rhine. The German border is just a 5 minute drive. Some fantastic towns, villages and chateau's (Haut-Koenigsbourg) once you hop in the car.
The site owners Alda and Ronald don't speak much English but will bend over backwards to help! Thank You!

Superb 2 star site. Simple clean toilet/shower arrangement. Lovely Alda and Roland running it. Stopped for 2 nights in late May, stayed for 7 and returned 3/4 weeks later after touring the Black Forest.
Relaxing and with a variety of bird life. Saw our first Golden Oriole. Well situated for trips along local canal and into Germany, over the Rhine into Brisach.
Neuf Brisach is a fascinating place with the historical ramparts. We will return.

This campsite was lovely, the owners were so helpful, gave me loads of maps etc. It was so quiet at night, and very pretty surroundings.
The toilets and showers were ok, prefer our own. It is a nice bike ride into Brisach which is a lovely town and colmar is a must, do not be put off by the outskirts of colmar.
Within 5 mins is a lidl which we were grateful for as France now seems quite expensive. There is also a nice Carrefore in Neuf Brisach. We loved this site.

I reviewed this campsite earlier this year and the only reservation I had was that the toilets were unisex. We returned in September and now we have separate ladies and gents!
The weather travelling to the campsite was very wet but the moment we arrived the sun came out and we had another lovely 3 day stay. There is a Lidl store within walking distance of the camp which we made good use of.
We still have not tried the sauna cabin but will do next year.

We stayed at this site for three nights at the beginning of July. We would have loved to stay longer. The prices are very reasonable and the pitches are spacious and have an electricity supply. The site was very quiet and is right next to the fortifications of the interesting village Neuf-Brisach.
The site owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Hot drinks, beer, bread/rolls and ice creams can be bought at reception and the village is 10 minutes walk away and it has a Carrefour supermarket and lots of restaurants.
There are 3 toilet and shower blocks all clean and washing machine. There is a nice play area for children, a pétanque pitch and two table tennis tables. There is a free marquee tent where those with small tents can shelter and eat. You can rent a tepee, static wooden and canvas tents, little cabins and a sauna cabin.
The only gripe I had was that the individual toilets are unisex.
This area of France and Germany is wonderful for hiking, cycling and wine-tasting.
We plan to spend much longer there next year.
