Best thing to say about this was it was fairly cheap. Only 1 ladies' shower and 2 toilets - lots of cobwebs and a bucket for you to mop up with! Never saw them being cleaned. Only 1 shower in the gents. No pot wash or hot water. Pretty exposed site. Pitches need a bit of TLC. No pub, shop or restaurant within walking distance. TV reception was too poor to watch anything. Nothing for children - unless they like watching sheep in the nearby field. Glad it was only 1 night. We were glad to move on!

We stayed here as an overnight stop on the way to Scotland and have to say that we were very impressed. The site is quite small, very peaceful and well maintained. There was an empty field at the side of the site that the dogs were able to run around on. The owner was helpful and friendly and allowed us to leave later as we wanted to see Castlerigg henge before we departed. Showers/ toilets were immaculate. As another reviewer commented I would not have taken children as there would have been very little to keep them entertained and I did wonder if this was, or should have been, an adult only site. In terms of location this is a good base for exploring the north lakes or just enjoying a very relaxing, peaceful location in beautiful countryside.

We used this site as a one night stopover on the way down from Scotland. Easily accessible from the M6 but well away from main roads. Also very easy to get down into the Lakes.
The site is well laid out with good hardstanding and plentiful water and electric points. Loo block was lovely and fairly new. Good showers and clean, homely facilities.
We had to book in at the 'big house' which was welcoming and paid £17 for the one night (without electric).
Dog walking had to be off site and there were no obvious paths around so we had to walk down the lane, though an empty field next door did provide a bit of running space.
Very convenient and well maintained site.

We've just come back from Tymparon Hall and had a lovely stress free weekend. As a couple with dog this site was perfect but not somewhere for us if we had the children with us. The toilet and shower block was spotlessly clean at all times(as well as always stocked with toilet paper), the grass on site was well trimmed with not a speck of litter in sight. The site is small and exceptionally quiet and great as a base for exploring the Lake District.
The owners are very helpful even loaning us a hook-up lead as ours was too short to reach the hook-up point (one point between three pitches).
The ground is hardstanding for van and awning (make sure you pack rock pegs)and set on a slight slope.
At £35 for 2 nights with electric we will return but only when we have no children.
