 We were very impressed with this Campsite from our initial arrival with easy access through to meeting the site owners who were absolutely lovely.
There are two hard standing pitch’s with electric hook up and although it is next to a main road which can be quite busy, the traffic noise soon quieten is down in the evening and is not a problem.
The site is very dog friendly with a dedicated large, enclosed area where dogs can be exercised off the lead and benefit from a beautiful, clean water stream.
Overall, this is a wonderful place to visit, it is possible to walk into Tavistock from the campsite all the way along the canal.
Highly recommended and we would definitely visit again.

A lovely CL, situated in the valley of the little river Lumburn, about a mile west of Tavistock so easy enough to get to, but watch out as the sign to the site comes up suddenly just after a bend and going downhill. Access is easy, but leaving the site is more of a problem as there is gravel and a bit of a ridge just before the busy main road. The site is level and well mown grass. There is one loo and shower which is well kept with lots of information leaflets here. There is a dog walk by the river at the back of the site.
The owners Dave and Anne are friendly but not intrusive but do mention money owing a little too much. You are asked to send £3 per night deposit in advance and there are no refunds if you decide to leave early (it's a very popular area).
There is plenty to see - the town itself with the pannier market, Morwellham Quay, Buckland Abbey, Cotehole, Lydford Gorge, Dartmoor are all nearby. Plymouth isn't far. There are good bus routes if you want to leave the car in Tavistock, and plenty of footpaths.
Last but not least, if you mention you need Sky tv when booking, you will be sited in the right part of the field. Oh, and it's £12 per night which is fair enough. There is also a tv booster system which you have to pay a bit extra for if you don't have a Sky dish.
