The campsite was really clean and staff really helpful,
The only concern was that we were put with tents on a corner next to play ground
One tent was noisy playing loud music as he was obviously intoxicated and being next to playground we had his kids keep running right close to our van all the time, backwards and forwards which kept setting the dog off, he was also throwing all his liquid waste into the bushes,
I would ask next time not to be near tents or playground and feel these should all be kept together.

We really enjoyed our two night stay. We were there all on our own so very peaceful.
The shower was lovely and hot and the owner Sharron was very helpful.
Looking out over all the animals was a nice touch and saw rabbits and foxes in the evening.
The four dogs running around were friendly and well behaved.
Would come again and if your looking for a bacis no frills campsite its just that.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay at Butter Acres. Great location, practically surrounded by orchards. Classic Garden of England! We were visiting family in Faversham, Isle of Sheppey and East Sussex so good location for us.
The owners couldn't have been more helpful and everything was as it should be. We used our own on board shower so can't comment on that. However the bathroom facilities were all in one room and everything was OK and clean.
We arrived after a particularly wet spell and it was a little spongy underfoot. All OK though.
Be aware that they have several dogs running loose and they are very friendly and one of them took a shine to our Crocks and took them back to their kennel. No problems though. We did find some dog mess on a couple of occasions.
We paid £60 for four nights plus electric hook up. Electricity is via a card purchased when you arrive. We bought 2 x £10 cards and I think when left there was about £5 unused electricity remaining. Non refundable.
It's quite an eccentric little site with a menagerie of animals and a really random lot of vehicles, farm machinery and general equipment. Even an old London bus!
Don't forget to buy the on site free range eggs they're really lovely. We bought 2 dozen to take home.
Anyway, overall pretty good I think. Probably good if you're looking for a stay over en route to the channel ports.

Great and secure location, very easy communication with the hosts and lovely dogs.
Plenty of space for caravans and tents.
Hot shower great, drinking water.
All in all, good value for money.

Beautiful small country campsite set just outside Canterbury, but close enough to enjoy the historic town!
Just enough on site to accommodate any traveller with basic their needs, without big site fuss!
It was so peaceful, I enjoyed watching the sites farm animals and the resident dogs were lovely!
I will be going back!🥰

This is our second visit, we've had a peaceful stay again, the dogs loved running together, the owners have been very welcoming and friendly, for a CL site it has everything we needed, we are impressed with the recycling system, we ever gave left over non-meat food to the animals and Tommy the donkey loves bread, it's great to see everything living together in the field. Thanks for a great week and we'll be back next year xx

What a great quiet friendly site, after chatting with the owners, they have done lots of work and are I'm process of improving some things.
They have two very friendly dogs and it was great to be able to let our dogs run free with them, especially knowing that the dogs can't get out.
They have quite an assortment of animals, apart from the chickens, ducks & guinefowl all the other pets have names.
We will be back again and for longer next time.

Having read the 5* review on this site we were very much looking forward to our stay at Butter Acres. The website also showed impressive photos of caravans nestling amongst the trees. The reality was entirely different. The site is basic with no waste facility, a run down toilet and various people living in statics close by. There were old caravans in a state of disrepair littered all over the site.
The electric hook up is metered and ran out so quickly we ended up running everything off our gas. Two dogs running free were intimidating at times and we weren't able to let our dog out of the van even on a lead as one of the dogs kept attacking him. The owners were friendly but completely oblivious to the chaos around.
The location just outside Canterbury was ideal for us but we were so unhappy we tried moving to another site but they were all fully booked.

We have just had the most perfect week.
Butter Acres is a welcoming and friendly site.
This was my first experience in a 'touring' caravan; I loved it and am ready for more!
The site is lovely and peaceful. I wake early most days and sitting in the open with only the sound of the wind in the trees accompanying my cup of tea was soul restoring.
There are farm animals who are obviously loved; they are trusting of humans.
Butter Acres in surrounded by countryside but is close to Canterbury town so you get the best of both. It is only a short drive from the coast so you can vary your activities with ease.
They had all the facilities we needed: shower, toilet, electric, fresh drinking water, waste disposal, recycling, internet and television/radio reception.
Also they had excellent security so you knew you and the caravan were safe.
I will definitely recommend this peaceful haven to one and all.
