Great site - facilities all as described in their webpage.
Fairly flat and level fields just enough slopes to stop it being boring or get too wet!
Not great views, though huge open sky (with great night sky if clear)
Good access to Cheddar Gorge, Ebbor Gorge, Wookey Hole and Wells.
Very friendly and helpful owner.
And as a 'solo traveller' economical at £8pppn (2024)

We absolutely loved the site the owners were very friendly and polite. It was just what we needed. The toilets were clean.
We were disappointed though that the toilets had a smell in them it as if people are smoking in them. I don't think this is appropriate when there are children around.

I went on holiday here as wanted to be as close to wild camping as I could.
The owner was great it was nice and quiet the toilets were compostable toilets which I was a bit wary of to start with but they were very clean and respectful.
I was surprised as I found there was a catering trailer on site as there is no mention of it on the website I tried the breakfast which was amazing and great value for money.
When I go again I know that it is there and I will definitely be using the catering trailer again the staff were polite and friendly

Owners are really friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed here a few times as it’s on my way down to the south and it’s great.
Very basic but perfect for a stop over and great for kids as there’s so much room to run around.
Toilets can get a bit whiffy but they’re kept very clean. Nice and quiet site too, no music or loud people late at night which is perfect when travel with children.
Lots of attractions really close too and a fabulous pub just down the road.

Great campsite, only a 45 minute drive from the centre of Bristol but couldn't feel further from the city. In a lovely location close to a nice little pub and surrounded by fields.
The man we were greeted by on arrival was extremely friendly and helpful, and was only £30 for 2 of us for 3 nights!
The only 1 issue was the lack of showers due to coronavirus, but of course that's not the sites fault.
Thank you!

I was at this site for 2 nights - for a cycling weekend.
The site itself is nice - relatively flat and as there are no fixed pitches you can pop your tent/van/camper wherever you wish.
The grass it left fairly long, which might be a bit annoying for some - I personally prefer it short, but that could be because I like to wander about with no shoes on in the morning.
There are really no facilities on the site, except for some pretty basic 'compost' toilets (eww), and a few fresh drinking water taps. No showers sadly - had to go to the leisure centre in Wells (beautiful city - go and have a look) for a shower after the bike ride.
It's pretty well located for viewing the sights of the Mendips (Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole etc); Wells, Bristol, Bath are all fairly short drives (or if you're mad like me, bike ride) away.
If you like rustic, 'proper' camping then this place is for you. It's ever so cheap, the owner is lovely, you're allowed firepits/bbqs etc, it's pretty quiet; I wasn't keen on the lack of showers, but that's a personal preference really :)

Harrison vs freemantle weekend break. We had a fantastic time. This camp is great if you want to do real camping. Proper back to basics with compost loos and no showers. There is water available though. My very first camping trip and we had loads of laughs. No one bothered us and we got to pick our own spot to set up. Great pub too for our cheddar challenge. Kids free roamed and loved it. We had no worries. Kids forraged wood and my son went all bear grylls and ate a wood louse eww. The owners were lovely. Great for a good natter and also they sell wood. Good wood too. We had a roaring fire. Which wasn't frowned apon. We also had a drive in to wells. A nice little city. Not a great deal of well known shops. Thankfully there is a lidl nr by.
