 Solo traveller with Daisy dog!
I was here last year and enjoyed it so came back again. It’s a typical municipal site, clean and tidy with the reception open mornings ‘til 10 then from 5pm.
Available pitches are listed on the door during the day so find your place and register later. Mostly French and Dutch.
The river is mostly very shallow with little deep pools for swimming. There are little stony beaches on site where the canoes come in. My wee Daisy loves it.
It’s just over the bridge from Souillac which has SuperU, Lidl, Aldi etc and all the usual local shops. Market is held on Fridays.
All in all, a really good site, close to Sarlat La Caneda, Gourdon etc.

Lovely, busy little site on the edge of Souillac situated on the bank of the river, when we arrived people were fishing, swimming, canoeing etc. The owners were friendly and showed us the available pitches to choose. The pitches were not overly large but adequate and were defined by small markers. We ordered bread for the morning which was warm when we collected it and very good! The toilets were a little dated but very clean and the showers were high pressured. The majority of people were French, quite a few Dutch and very few English. It was a convenient night holt but most people seemed to be on holiday. There is a small bar attached to reception selling drinks and ice-creams and we noticed a board with steak & chips for a very reasonable cost. In the evening we had a pleasant stroll into Souillac (perhaps a mile?) which is a pretty little town with lots of bars and restaurants. Very typical municipal site!
