 Was recommended this site by various people. Stayed here two nights, not a perfect place for tents to be honest.
I first called this place a week before, they wouldn't take bookings but assured me they would have space. I called up from Geneva an hour before arrival, sure enough they stated to come along.
On arrival the place was absolutely packed and to be fair surprised they let me on. Tents were crammed together to the extent the exhaust on my car moved the tent behind me once started! The max distance was about 1m. I was charged full to every aspect, the tent, the car & high season totalling to 38Eu for two nights. The toilet blocks & facility's were huge, and they put me right in front of them. It seemed no one wanted to sleep on this site before 1am, and come 5am first light the constant 18-hour door banging started, followed by the first SNCF train at 7, just 20m from the site on a half-hourly basis.
The facility's were more than adequate, but I have a small issue with large site's not supplying toilet roll or any clothes hooks in the showers, not helped when the nearest shop is a drive away.
Despite the above the site manager was friendly & helpful, little English spoken but I never expected him to.
There is only one real place to eat In Les Bossons, around 3-5 minutes walk from the site on the Chamonix road. Chamonix can be walked, but took me around 50 minutes and the bus stops running after 7. 30pm
Would I return? No, not with other sites over the road better served with far more pitch space with slightly better views.
