 We stayed at this site for 14 nights in August 2013. It was perfectly located for us but as a regular user of UK campsite found there were no reviews at all, so we decided to go and find out. We were absolutely delighted. The site owners are relatively new and could not do enough to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. We ate twice in the restaurant which although not a huge menu the food was fantastic. They don't have full restaurant service every night, but do snacks like pizza/chips etc. , other nights and one evening a week a “plat du jour” social evening. The site was mainly Dutch (due to previous owners) but they are keen to welcome other families to visit more in the future. One of the owners spoke fluent English and the others were enough for us all to communicate well. Bread and pastries are ordered daily (pain au raisin was beautiful) and the pool is open every day and was very welcome in the 38 degrees we had. Some of the pitches are slightly sloping but they are a good size, we stayed in 26a which had a lovely view and the stars at night were stunning. We didn’t use the showers and toilets, our friends did and felt they were adequate, however I understand from the owners this is under review for development. There is also a small park for the little ones and a wooded area which was popular.
The peace and quiet was wonderful, just what is needed as a break from modern life. They don't allow charcoal bbqs on your pitch just gas but they have a fire pit which you can place your charcoal barbie in to cook which we did quite a few times. Good shopping available locally in Nontron and the site owners can point you in the direction of the largest market in the dordogne which was great and lots of lovely local villages.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this site and would happily spend another of my holidays there.

We stayed at this site for 2 weeks from the end of July. It is set back from the road so lovely and quiet. There is so much space for children to play, a playground, a lovely pool, table tennis and a boule pit. The shower and toilet block is communal and is adequate, could do with a little modernisation but cleaned every morning. The restaurant on site was fantastic, excellent food, always busy. There is a take away available on some nights too and a bar. You can order bread, croissants and pastries the day before also which are delivered the following morning and collected between 9 & 10. The two brothers and their family who run the site work extremely hard and are very friendly and helpful. There was free wifi available if you sat near reception but wasn't always working.
The nearest supermarket is in Nontron about 15 mins drive. Visited Brantome a few times, watched jousting on the river (Friday night at about 9. 15) and went to an amazing restaurant called Café Riviere overlooking the water, the prawn thai green curry was fantastic. Brantome is a stunning town on with lots of lovely shops, some restaurants, bars and an Abbey, definitely worth a visit. We hired canoes from Brantome also, (Allo canoes). The bus took us 8km up river and we canoed back, an absolute must. We also went go karting at karting du Perigord, it was 20 euros for 10 minutes, kids loved this. We were the only British on the site, the rest were mostly Dutch with a few French and Belgium campers but all friendly. We loved this site for it was quiet, friendly owners, lovely setting and pool.
