Our family of four have just returned from two weeks at l'Oasis Camping. We always use ukcampsite to check reviews prior to picking a site but took a risk this year as we could only find one old review.
Overall we are left feeling very frustrated and annoyed by our experience and wanted to give a balanced review for others who may be thinking about using the site. We stayed in a chalet so cannot comment on the camping side of the service.
I will use numbered points to save you reading an essay:
1. Following our arrival we had to wait an hour to be shown to our chalet. We and others stood around bemused at not having an explanation as to why.
2. The 'wellness' centre (indoor pool area, sauna and bubble pool) did not open until 2pm and closed at 7pm. It was closed on Mondays. The Hammam (steam room) was shut for the whole two weeks with no evidence of anyone looking to fix it. The water was cold in bubble pool and main pool.
3. The outdoor pool was closed for several days. When asked to why I was told risk of slipping and lightning by the manager. I challenged this stating it was light rain, there was no slip risk the the forecast each day did not mention lightning. The manager dismissed my complaints.
4. On our first night we asked for food at the restaurant and was met by blank looks. They told us about a restaurant in the village. The restaurant was never open as far as we could tell and no mention was made about it being so in the info pack.
5. The inflatables were deflated at 7pm each night when they should have been left open at least until 9pm as it was still light and the children were playing happily.
6. We asked for someone to come and help sort it a smell of urine around our decking. We were told it must have been previous users who had dogs. We asked if they could sort this out and he shrugged shook his head and left. We used hot water etc to sort it out ourselves!
7. Having tidied up the chalet for inspection by staff with clipboard the first thing on arrival pointed out was hand prints on the entrance door window! The female manager then moved around the kitchen equipment and folded a floor cloth before signing off the chalet as ok.
Whilst understanding the 3 star rating, it was a primarily French site and our french was limited we don't think this excuses their poor customer service and feel the website should state clearly what they actually offer as it is very misleading. Also having tried to complain to 'flower camping' whom we thought they were registered with we found out they no longer registered and have not been for quite some time.
Having said all of this this site was quiet, the chalet was soundproof and it had a dishwasher! The site has so much promise and a lot to offer for a peaceful relaxing holiday. Some simple changes and additions would really help to get it up to four stars!
Sun loungers near what is a good sized outdoor pool- open the indoor pool when the outside one is closed due to bad weather!- open the facilities every day in summer- recruit a few local young people to monitor the pools and inflatables- welcome people who arrive and hand out keys quickly- open the restaurant.
Hope this helps!

We were here for a motor bike rally, it was the 30th anniversary of the Yamaha Vmax 1200 V4, so it was very well attended. The site is massive, we had 20 European countries attending and probably about 2000 people, there were in excess of 1000 Vmax's there, a representative from Yamaha said that when they originally made the Vmax, there was never that many in the factory at any one time, so we may be in the Guinness book of records for the most amount of Vmax's together at any one time.
The facilities were never strained even with so many people there, we ate in the restaurant a couple of time's and that was very good and reasonable.
It was a long trip for us but well worth it
