 This campsite has two entrances, one from the main road into Calella de Palafrugell, which has easy access for caravans and the other on the road to LLafranc which entails quite a steep and windy road. Both entrances are well signposted.
Once on the site you will find that the pitches are large, about 10m x 8m, and separated on at least two sides by hedges. The ground is mostly sandy and hard, metal pegs would be useful, and there is plenty of shade.
There are plenty of toilet blocks dotted around the site with proper toilets and plenty of showers. The washbasins are not in cubicles and they could do with a few extra hooks in the showers, but the toilets do have toilet roll. The facilities could do with refreshing but, were always clean and well kept. The site also has a bar and restaurant with a small selection of meals. These were not cheap, but were well made. There is also a well-stocked, and I thought reasonably priced supermarket, a pool, games room and laundry. There was some off site music that was quite loud and went on until the early hours for a couple of nights during my stay; we’d noticed a stage had been set up in the town.
The beach at LLafranc is only a few minutes’ drive from the site although parking may be tricky during high season, you could walk but it involves quite a steep climb. The site is in a good spot for exploring the local area and good roads allow you to head further afield easily. You can also buy tickets for the local tourist bus from reception. We were also able to purchase stamps for the UK at reception and posted cards in the post box on site. Although this is a large campsite the number of toilet blocks and the way the site is laid out help to make it feel like a much smaller one. The staff were all friendly and spoke good English. A lot of care was taken over the campsite, they would even come round and rake the sand on all pitches regularly, taking away anything fallen from the trees. Overall, whilst it's not cheap, I was very pleased with this site and would definitely consider a return.
