 We booked two riverside pitches next to each other (one for us, one for our teens) and were not disappointed with either, we had shade but it wasn't gloomy (unlike some closer to the play area). The river gave us a beautiful and somewhat entertaining backdrop and we enjoyed many evenings sitting out with a glass of wine.
There is a beach at the far end of the site, no sand but you can take chairs down to sit on. Early morning walks along there with the dog before the campsite woke up were such a treat, apart from a few fishermen, had the place to ourselves. Lots of teens in the campsite used to hang out on the beach in the evenings, this was allowed as along as they were quiet and respected other campers peace when returning to their tents. There was a warden on duty to make sure the rules were upheld.
The campsite is family run and the owners were very welcoming. We ate in the restaurant several evenings and found the food very good, although we did need to book as it was popular. The ice-cream desserts where huge and my teens consumed many, the other desserts on offer were a bit of a let down.
Three sets of sanitary blocks, always clean and lots of hot water for doing dishes and showering. The pool was too busy for me (I'm not a pool person) but my daughter enjoyed it to cool off in.
We chose this site as we wanted to visit the Millau Viaduct and wanted somewhere quiet but not too far away from everything, this site suited us perfectly. Le Rozier is a 5 minute drive away and Millau 25 minutes away.
My hubby and teens kayaked on two separate days, the kayaks can be hired from the site, they were driven to Les Vignes and kayaked down the gorge back to the campsite, it took them just over 3. 5 hours each time and they all thoroughly enjoyed it.
A lovely, well-laid out campsite in a very beautiful part of the world. Would very much like to return.
