Excellent, quiet and relaxed site.
I did not bother to look in the shower or toilet as I prefer to use my own facilities.
Plenty room between pitches, good toilet cassette emptying point, two convenient water taps, well designed motorhome grey water emptying point.
80 acres of grounds are available to walk around at no extra cost.
Boat trips are available on the River Tweed.
The site is very sheltered due to the high wall surrounding it.
Don't expect views but expect peace and quiet.

Nice walled garden located in the grounds of Paxton House. There are modern toilets with shower facilities but only one shower was working at the time of our visit. Didn't try it as we use our onboard shower. Plenty of space between pitches and all facilities are close to most pitches.
There is no reception on site and you can chose any site available. Though I'm told the staff do check daily on occupancy.
You do have access to the various pathways in the grounds and there is a lovely circular walk down through the woods to the river Tweed, that follows along the banks side before rising back up to the rear of the main house. Dogs are welcomed.
There was a marquee located on the lawns outside the great house that hosted a weekly craft fair while we were there. Not sure if this is still going. There is also a cafe / gift shop in the house open to all.
Easy access into Berwick which we found enjoyable exploring and with some great beach walks across the river in Spittle.
Nearest pub is in the village of Paxton which is maybe a mile or so walk. We didn't eat there but heard folks recommend it.
All in all, a quiet, pretty location with good local walks and easy access into Berwick.

Another return visit to this lovely quiet peaceful site.
Visited to bring in the New Year. We will be back again and again. Great for walks in the grounds and down by the river or Tweed.
Perhaps the elsan could do with an empty as it was a little smelly, looking forward to the next time.

Great Find!
We enjoyed 5 nights here (£15 per night).
The site is easy to access, well maintained and peaceful.
There are fine walks in and around the estate, and a splendid cafe in the main house. We did not tour the house, but there is 10% discount offered to campers for tours and shop + cafe.
Berwick is 3 miles away, and there is a fine gastropub in the village which is 10 mins. Walk.
Enjoy !

Firstly this is no longer a CC CL. It is now a 15 Van site however if you have been before you will know there is more than enough room for 15 vans and still stacks of space in between.
Great site for peace and quite.
Lovely walks around the grounds and down by the River Tweed.
No facilities on this site but then at £12 a night that is expected and not a bother.
TV signal IS NIL, though that may have been due to our pitch, asking about it wasn't much better elsewhere though, one guy said he couldn't get a picture with his Satellite Dish though there is no overhead cover lol.
Will return but for weekends only and with a stock of DVD's for the night's.
Staff not knowledgeable re the site at all and answer all questions with a one word answer. They are obviously more interested in the House itself and the shop they work out of.
There is scope on this site for improvement should they wish but to be honest it works well as it is.

This is a Caravan Club CL situated in the old walled garden of Paxton House, Berwick on Tweed. There are no toilets/showers on the site but as we always use our own facilities this was not a problem.
There is plenty room and the site is all grass. The site is easily accessed from the A1. It is very handy for visiting Berwick with all its attractions.
We stayed for a few days over Halloween and joined the candlelit 'ghost' tour round the house at a discounted rate. There are special rates for house tours plus discounts in the shop and restaurant.
Well worth a visit.

This is a fabulous site, it is in the old walled garden of Paxton House - which is much bigger than you would imagine. It is surrounded by glorious woodland walks, right down to the River Tweed. It is so peaceful with abundant wildlife, including deer and red squirrels. Visitors to the site may have free entry to Paxton House and gift shop, the only toilets available are in the house, which is a little walk away. There is also a very good rustic children's playground on the way to the river.
While we were there members of the Tweed foundation were netting for salmon and sea trout for tagging. We spent a fabulous afternoon lazing on the river bank and watching but saw only one sea trout while we were there, apparently it was a little late in the year for the salmon. But what a glorious afternoon it was - one of many. The site was well placed to visit Berwick (6 miles away) Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and Alnick Castles, etc. Etc. We had a very pleasant day at Lindisfarne and a magnificent sail around the Farne islands. Despite the lack of toilets and showers on site, it is well worth the £12. 00 per night pitch fee.
