We wanted to attend the famous passion Play at Oberammergau in 2022 and this was the nearest campsite. The site is easily accessed from the main road and there is a fairly central building which contains the reception and all the usual facilities.
Showers and toilets were clean and heated. The pitches are quite small and entirely hard-standing. We decided not to put up an awning, although there would have been just about enough room.
The site owners were OK, not particularly effusive or welcoming, it was all quite business-like. Reception is only open at very specific times and for not as long as we have previously experienced at other campsites.
Pitches are expensive, ours worked out at nearly 60 Euros per night with EHU. Location is very good for the town, it is an easy walk in and Oberammergau itself is interesting if excessively "touristy" in places. There are lots of bars and restaurants in the town and near the campsite.
We are unlikely to stay on the campsite again as, if we do return to this region, we shall opt for a different area.
Local roads are pretty good on the whole and public transport is quite readily available and accessible.

Really friendly and helpful welcome at reception in good English.
Toilets and showers modern and very clean. Pitches vary in size, some being quite small and the surface may be quite large gravel. Tent area is grass. Some road noise. ACSI discount EHU is limited to 4kw/hrs/day.
Interesting town and supermarkets are an easy walk along the river path and bus stops close to the entrance, seniors get a free bus pass from reception. Lovely area with many walks from the site. With ACSI discount, great value and our stay extended to several nights more then planned.

The camp-site is within walking distance to the beautiful picturesque town of Oberammergau. It has well spaced pitches for all units, the grass area for tents is well sheltered and easy for pegging out.
The facilities are really spotless and there are plenty enough, I actually saw a lady with a deep clean hoover thing clean all the facilities tiles etc each day. Saw many hard standing pitches for motor type units.
The site has won many awards over the years on display.
The family owners running the site were very friendly and most helpful indeed. In the area there are many things to see and do for all, from the theatre to hill walking and fun things for the kids. The town has plenty of supermarkets and places to eat and drink within walking distance from the site. We stayed a week and still wanted more time as there was so much to see and do in the area, and will definitely return.
