Clean and tidy well defined pitches but absolutely no free grass space, on or off site. Crowded in June.
Not good for leisurely walks except to the village centre

Quiet site, centrally located in the centre of a small town.
Supermarket within 5 mins walk and lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance.
Generous hedged pitches. Clean uni sex toilet and shower block,
Nice pool and poolside snack bar/ bar with small play area.
Since our last visit( 2016) the owners have improved the ambience a lot. Friendly owners who will try to speak a little english.
Nice for a stop over or a base to explore the coast with La Rochelle just over 30 mins away and Chatellion Plage and the Marais Poutevin nearer still. Lovely market on Sat ams with local produce.
Would recommend as a local town in the real Charente Maritime.

We stayed at this site in 2014, its seen a few changes.
The old sanitary blocks has gone, only one blocks remains and that seems to have had another recent refit. Unisex showers / loos, very clean and plenty of hot water. Washing sink outside block has hot water.
Overall the site very much cleaner and tidier, everything looks really well cared for.
Pitches a decent size, ehu post for every 6 pitches. Water off near pitches but a tap up by the entrance working. Wifi included in pitch price.
Gate at rear of site to walk along river bank to the village. There are a good few shops in village and a cafes and bars, there is also a Super you supermarket half way between town and campsite.
We used as an overnight stop, an afternoon stroll around the chateau and village and we were done.
Would use again for a stopover but nothing in the immediate area to keep us longer.

Reviewers - mature couple with campervan and bikes
We were looking for an overnight stop on our way north, and chose this site from the ACSI book. We followed the signs in the village, but eventually had to use the satnav.
The site is on the edge of the village in a quiet area, surrounded by trees.
We were given a friendly welcome by the warden and invited to choose our own pitch. We were given a key card for the barrier and back gate.
The site is flat, with grassy pitches divided by hedges and trees, some mobile homes too. There is a small shop and snack bar near reception where you can buy ice cream too. A lovely swimming pool behind reception with a wooden decking surround, and a children's play area.
The main sanitary block looks quite new, unisex, with toilets, showers and enclosed basins. All were very clean. Washing up is outside. There is another older block near reception. We used those showers before going in the pool and they were fine.
A gate at the back of the site leads across a small river, into a park, and then into the village. Before that, you pass the chateau, and a lovely old Church, together in a beautiful walled area, it is only a short walk.
There are shops and restaurants in the village, plus a supermarket on the main road.
We thought this site was lovely, and not too far from the coast for a day out.
Very good value for money with ACSI discount.
