Planned to stay at this site for three nights en route to Austria. Site appearance is unkempt. Tents are allocated to an area near the entrance and away from the lake, surface is stony and grass in a poor condition. Lake pitches are kept for motorhomes and caravans. Our main problem was noise until 2. 30am for two consecutive nights despite registering the problem with the management after the first night. No attempt at all was made to advise the two noisy groups of the site policy of quiet after 10pm even though management said they had received multiple complaints. Toilet blocks are adequate and kept pretty clean. Electric hookups available. The local Spa town is delightful and the site restaurant served a great breakfast after we packed up and left after the second night. The lake was being well used for small inflatable boats as well as swimming. There is a nice walk around the lake. However we would not stay at a Knaus site again as on the return journey we experienced different problems at another Knaus site. Campers in tents are most definitely the poor relations on these sites.

Can only agree partly with previous comment about the site itself. We arrived at the wine festival weekend hoping to stay for 5 nights, we stayed one. The site is rather unkempt in appearance with untidy bays of 6 to 8 pitches. The grass is poor and unmown and lots of pitches are messy and void of any grass at all. I refused my allocated pitch, I wouldn't have parked a tractor on it. We noted 5 reasonable pitches but reception wouldn't let us have any saying they were booked. I accepted one not far from the entrance next to a an English motor home which was ok. The wine festival weekend was not without problems, there was a lot of drunkeness and loud parties going on and to cap it all when we returned from the restaurant the manager had pitched a group of youths in 2 tents between us and the neighbouring motor home leaving little space. According to a site local this is a regular occurrence of the site is busy. All this on the first day put us off and we left the following day. The toilets are old but adequate and clean and the restaurant was good and friendly.
Unfortunately that type of site and management doesn't score any points with me so I couldn't recommend it.

Visited with 20 other Motorhomes and were given some great pitches next to the lake. Their are several toilet blocks with good, clean facilities. All pitches are grassed but quite large and tidy. Their is an on-site restaurant where several of our friends had good meals - also on site is a small wine bar. We also used the bus service at the main entrance to take us into Bad Durkheim but you can walk it easy in around 20 minutes. Also within a 10 minute walk is a Shopping complex with Aldi/Lidil and McDonalds.
Good for cycling in the area.
This is a great site for anyone visiting the Wurstmarket wine festival.
