An update for this site. Still a bit like going back to an 80's Municipal but with updated electrics and toilets.
It was quiet at the end of the Season with a few overnighters. The ground was green and clean.
The sanitary block was immaculate with plenty of hot water. The Manager (who looks just a bit like a Hobbit) is cheerful and helpful.
He keeps a basic stock of essentials and drinks at non-inflated prices and delivers the bread to your pitch.
The swimming pool and nearby bar/restaurant had already closed so I cannot comment on them.
The local supermarket has fresh bread if the baker is closed and is only a few minutes away by bike.

We chose this site as it was an easy day's drive from Caen and close to the autoroute from Le Mans to Vierzon.
It was just as we expected based on the previous reviews, from the spotless, but dated, facilities, to the cheerful and friendly Manager.
It was very quiet with only a few units on site. When we arrived there was a notice in the reception window telling us to choose a pitch and come back later, which we did.
The nearby supermarket closes until 3. 00pm. So we drove to Romarantin where there was a much larger one.
The turn into the site entrance from the narrow lane was a little tight and may be difficult for very large caravans.
All in all a pleasant, quiet site and a good night's sleep, and all for just over 10 Euros!

As has been said, a traditional French municipal site with large hedged pitches. Very quiet. Toilet block/ washing up facilities dated but spotless & plenty of hot water.
Warden very friendly & helpful. Easy walk to interesting village, only issue was boulangerie closed on a Wednesday which was the day of our stay! Can order bread for following day.
Bargain at €10. 44 a night with electric

Very helpful Guardian who insisted he try out his English on me whilst I tried out my French with him! AND he had bread and croissants for us every morning if we ordered the evening before.
Quiet and pleasant well laid out and clean site, good size pitches, shade or sun as you wanted. 40 pitches but about 5-10 units each night.
Adjacent swimming pool and good supermarket with fuel about 1 mile east.
Weekly food market by the Canal and a restaurant nearby - or afternoon tea at the hotel in the village.
The mediaeval village is well worth a visit as is the surrounding area.
Inexpensive so do support this site as like so many good sites it is losing some custom due to freeloading Motorhome users going to the Aire up the road.

A lovely site with slightly uneven grassy hedged pitches and a choice of sun or shade. Clean facilities, but only the disabled shower had hot water. Friendly helpful gardien is there morning and evening, at other times you choose a pitch and book in later.
There's no motorhome drain but you can empty out at the nearby aire. Bread's available from 7am if you order it the night before.
Menneton is an attractive medieval village with many old buildings and there are lovely walks along the canal and the River Cher
We paid the incredibly low price of €10. 44 a night including electricity.

This is a lovely municipal which is under threat of closure so please use it. The Pitches are large and shady.
The showers arc good old fashioned ones, clean and simple and unpretentious. The toilets are always clean and standard modern style, not continental,
The present warden is a charming lady who is concerned for your welfare and efficient. The pitches are separated by hedges and all sevices are at hand. Bread etc can be ordered for delivery to the site.
The village a stroll away is a delight. Small, ancient and steeped in history. There Is a good supermarket close by. Stay here. Keep it open. I recommend it unreservedly.

We stayed on this site as friends had hired a gite in nearby Langon, and this was the nearest site to it. We could cycle from it to the gite, it was about 5km, and there is a road alongside the railway which is quieter than the D976.
It's a small site, with hedged pitches, all quite large. There are 2 small toiletblocks; as we were the only ones there, Nadege (manageress, who lives on site and who is very friendly) opened the one nearest to us. As it is only a small site, it wouldn't have been a hardship to walk to either! The block at the back of reception has male and female, with 1 shower, 1 washbasin and 2 WCs in each. The other block has doors opening straight from the outside into shower, washbasin or WC. It looks an old block, but is kept very clean and the water is very hot.
The previous reviewer mentions a 3ft high hedge round the site. On our visit we found high hedges around 3 parts of it, but along the access road the hedge was very low. We also found, and moved pitch because of it, that alongside the top part of the site there is a path, which is used by local kids. There are benches along it and they were beig used by them so sit on and play music, not something we wanted to listen to as it is very quiet on the site otherwise. These are pitches 1 to about 13 from memory.
Other than that it's a perfect little site, without EHU as we have a solar panel, it cost us 10 Euros for the 1st night and 8. 50 for subsequent nights. And then we got a 10% discount for having the CCI! Very cheap.
It's used as an overnighter, but not by many: 3 MHs on the 1st night, 1 caravan on the 2nd and 3 MHs on the 3rd. Shame, as it is a really good little site.
Site is closed Mon-Sat between 1pm and 3. 30pm and on Sunday between 12 and 4pm; no access during these hours.

We stayed overnight here on our way south. It's a lovely old-fashioned Municipal that gives you a real taste of 'la France Profonde'. We were given a warm welcome by the warden, Nadège, who lives on site and shown to a decent-sized pitch (I'd say around 100 m2).
The facilities were clean (if a bit old) and toilet paper was provided. Although old, the toilet buildings were quite attractive. And it has to be said, this site took me right back to the 80's when I started camping in France :-)
For €8. 50 a night with electricity for 2 people this pretty little site represents good value.
Just one thing. The fence around the site is only about 3ft (1m) tall. If that sort of thing worries you this might not be the site for you. It didn't worry us.
The site is between the Canal du Berry and the river Cher so there are some very scenic walks within a few meters. The canal is especially pretty and has a lovely little bridge you cross to get to the village. A more modern bridge slightly closer to Vierzon is a more practical proposition if you're towing.
Mennetou is a delightful medieval village, with old style shop signs hanging above the doors. Most of it is more or less pedestrianised and very quiet. The local butcher has a shop full of huge trophies for making andouillettes, the local delicacy.
