Reviewers - mature couple with campervan and bikes.

We chose this site from the ACSI book as we fancied visiting the village and market again. It is easy to find with signposts from the main road in the village. The campsite is just outside the village, slightly uphill on a not too busy road.

The site has a good wide entrance, then the pitches are through a barrier at one side of the wide drive, with the swimming pool, restaurant and car park, and reception building at the other. The restaurant is open to the public, the customers are also allowed to use the pool.

The reception was manned by a couple of cheerful friendly young people, who took our details, then gave us a map of the site, asked us to leave the van, then walk round to choose a pitch and come back. This proved rather troublesome, as the site was nearly full, and there were very few empty pitches where we could find an EHU post. Eventually we found a pitch, but had to use a very long cable across the roadway to the post. The whole site was covered with criss crossing cables.

We saw many units coming in after us with people walking round searching for a pitch, though the only spaces left had no EHU. And we witnessed a conflict where 2 units had chosen the same pitch. The pitches were not in very good condition due to the hot dry weather

There are 2 sanitary blocks, one at the back was half closed, apparently it was due to be replaced. The one near the entrance is new, with state of the art self cleaning toilets which sent everyone out with a smile! All the facilities are shared sex, with no urinals, so the toilets were always busy.

Also near the barrier is a community shelter, which was used one evening by a group for a BBQ and get together.

We didn't use the restaurant, but the pool was very nice, with sunny and shady areas.

We cycled into the village, it's very touristy with lots of places to eat. The chateau is nearby, you can visit the interior for a fee.

Although the site was ok, I wouldn't want to rush back.

The reception here was very friendly and helpful. This is a very quiet and peaceful site with pitches separated by high hedging which offered privacy and shade but also stopped the sun getting through next morning. Water and electricity points were plentiful. The toilets / showers were clean but half were closed down in September so that everyone had to use the ladies block. There is a small shop but this was running down at the end of season. The swimming pool looked lovely. There is a restaurant at the gate which we didn’t use. The nearby town of Lourmarin looked nice but was quite a long walk away. This is a good site for an overnight stop and we would use it again.
