We are a family of 5 – 2 adults and 3 teenagers. We do a lot of camping.
The positives for this site are:
Lovely owner, Nicole.
Lovely restaurant with good food and a chef from Guadaloupe who did fantastic cooking.
River swimming right there on site.
Well situated - Florac is 2 minutes’ away and from here we did a day driving in Gorges du Tarn and a day exploring the Causse Méjean
Our teenagers liked the wifi area when we allowed them to go there
Negatives:
Sadly it was not for us. We needed more space and did not feel relaxed. Nearly all the campsites in the bottom of the Gorges du Tarn in the Cévennes are very full, but we really felt like we were packed in like sardines. So there was no space on your little pitch even to kick a football around and children were playing badminton etc on the little road.
There were queues for the washing up area – only 4 sinks – and the showers were unreliable. The whole washing area was poorly lit, dark and dingy.
If you don’t mind the negatives then this site would be fine but after some incredible campsites in other parts of France, this was disappointing.

We visited again this year when site was very busy the last week in July. There was a bit of pressure on toilet and washing up facilities but just as lovely as last year. The only major difference we notices was many more English families than before and I felt the area round the river could do with a bit more care to chop back weeds etc.
Being in the motorhome this year we realised that site is a little far out if you don't want to move the van. There is one restaurant other than the one on site to walk to and a couple of wild swimming spots but no shops unless you drive to Florac. Still loved it and would return in the future but perhaps not for as long as a week.

Stayed here for 6 nights and it is a lovely site, great location, good staff, reasonable facilities.
Probably best to visit outside of the main French holiday season as could get cramped and facilities could be overloaded.
Florac is ten minutes by car and has all necessary shops and is an interesting town.
Superb landscape - everyone should visit the Cevennes national park at least once in their life.
Some great walks can be done directly from the site.
Bit short of really hot water in the dish washing and shower area but there is one shower that is excellent!
The restaurant is in a a wonderful location, not haute cuisine but good value.
Probably the best site in the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The pitches are mainly large and most have some much needed shade. Some pitches back directly on to the river and some in a little wooded glade where we chose to pitch for extra shade. Toilet facilities were spotless with new wcs fitted. As mentioned previously they are housed in a rather old block but all was freshly painted. Some queueing at peak times for showers.
There is a little river beach with a few wooden loungers and this is a good swimming point as you can swim under the bridge and on a bit. Very pretty setting. The restaurant overlooks the river beach and serves very good food. We tried the pizzas, duck breast and steak as well as the chestnut and fromage blanc dessert - all delicious and very reasonably priced.
The site was almost full when we were there with mainly families with younger children and couples. There is probably not enough to keep teens occupied there - one table tennis table and nowhere I noticed for ball games etc. I enjoyed the gentle but lively vibe of this site after staying at a very quiet first site. There is a beaver colony at the the opposite end of the site from reception and many campers went along there at dusk to watch for beavers.
The site is 3k from Florac which has two supermarkets, many restaurants, small shops and is set in a stunning area. We drove through parts of the Cevennes national park, beautifully wild. We also drove through the Tarn gorge to Millau but on reflection this was probably a bit far along the very winding roads. We enjoyed some lovely river swimming in various different spots, particularly under the waterfall at Les Runes.
In all we spent nine nights at this site and loved both the area and campsite and would definitely return.

We loved this site and would go back again. The owners are a lovely American/ German lady who is married to a Frenchman. She speaks several languages fluently and is more than hospitable and friendly. She recommended things to see in the area and routes to take. This site is in a lesser known area of France that has lots to offer in terms of spectacular scenery, river gorges, walking routes and caves. The site is well located for exploring the Cevennes area and the Stevenson walking trail runs along the river past the reception. The site is on the banks of the beautiful and lively Tarn river which is very scenic and has beavers. It is peaceful with good sized grassy plots, trees for shade but also sunshine. We had a pear tree near our motorhome dropping the odd delicious pear every now and again. The site is very dog friendly and the owners were more than happy to allow our dog with us when we ate in the on site restaurant. This served lovely food at good prices and a lovely ambiance. We found the portions big and the chef excellent, cooking steak as only the French can do. Locals came to eat there during our stay, always a good recommendation. This is only a 2 star site because the toilet block probably needs updating. However it was very clean, the showers were hot and spacious, dishwashing and washing machine facilities were all available. I would definitely recommend this as an area to visit and a site to come to.
