 This 'could be' a lovely site, as it is on the edge of Dartmoor, in a wooded area, with a river running through it, and good dog walking area. It is also only a 10 minute walk into the village of Horrabridge which has a shop, pub etc. The campsite appears to be a mix of permanent park homes, holiday statics, seasonal caravan pitches, and a few tourer pitches. All pitches have electric supply, there are no fully serviced pitches. Toilet block is basic, with showers and toilets, which have seen better days and definitely need replacing with a new and better equipped unit.
Management seems easygoing, although site office was supposed to be open 9am to 11am each day there was rarely anyone in the office. We chose this site as it was near to friends we were visiting, but would not go there again. It is however cheap at £13 a night if cost is the deciding factor for you.

I wanted a last minute bank holiday break and a lot of sites were full. I contacted this one and they had space. Didnt book as such just said I would be arriving.
I only have a small tent so there was plenty of spaces to choose from. No definite marked spaces just pitch where you want. All relatively flat but there were only 3-4 tents there the rest were caravans- some residential some not and some lodges.
Very laid back site. No one was there at reception but located the keeper who told me to pay later or the next day.
I really only saw the part of the site I was on so cant comment about the rest. There was a water point and a toilet/shower block. Ladies consisted of 3 toilets and 2 showers. They all looked to me to be all brand new (think the site is having a rebrand as it used to be magpie?) I cant give feedback on shower as have to admit (blush) I didn't use them. The showers themselves again looked brand new but the floor at time I visited was concrete and I am such a wuss and cant stand the cold so I never used them. They were all clean though and nice soft toilet paper too!
No shop or anything on site but there is a chip shop a short walk away, a village with a pub which does meals and a co op supermarket about a mile away.
There is a beautiful walk round the edge of the site. There is a small stream/river and when I went was carpeted with bluebells. I am told by residents that there is a kingfisher and otter but didn't see either! Really pleasant to walk in evening though.
Ideally placed for walks on Dartmoor which was great, loads of ponies about. Two bridges (about 9 miles) does a lovely cream tea and there are a few walks from the car park opposite which are v nice.
The very small negative of the site was that the prices don't seem to match the web so its worth checking first. Only a couple of pound diff but if your staying a while it may mount up.It may just be that the web needs updating
Nice quite site, well maintained and clean and tidy toilets. Ideally placed for Dartmoor and other places. I have marked facilities as 5. This is not to say they were bad just that they don't have shop, playground etc.
