We stayed at Splash Farm for 4 nights in mid-October 2021. As others have said, the site is compact but most of the pitches have hedging that gives a certain amount of privacy.
The access into the site looks a bit daunting but is actually fine, if a little tight. Manoeuvring onto your designated pitches might be a bit of an issue for some larger units but we were a 7. 4m long motorhome and access was fine.
Although the pitches look to be grass, there is actually reinforced matting beneath and thus are deemed “all weather” pitches. Each pitch has a dedicated electric point and water tap as well as a TV connection point, as there is virtually no terrestrial TV coverage.
Make sure that you receive a copy of the site instructions from the site owners as this will tell you how to go about connecting up your TV system via. The supplied digi-boxes and cables. We didn’t and it was by phoning the owners did we find out what we needed to do!
There are plentiful walks & cycle routes either direct from the site or by heading the 10 minute walk to High Peak Junction which is part way along the Cromford Canal as well as the end/start of the High Peak Trail.
At this time, the road between Cromford & Lea Bridge is still closed, so the route into the site needs to come from the A615 Matlock to Alfreton road. The above mentioned site instructions give all the required information about this.
We didn’t get to meet the site owners but they were helpful on the phone and the site was well kept. £15 per night was just about right.

Great peaceful location in a beautiful part of Derbyshire.
Fab little site, individual spots for each camper with landscaped hedges and trees to give privacy, each has a picnic table and tap.
Lovely owners, a little gem of a site! Good base for walking, cycling etc and dog friendly.

Great little site for a base of visiting Matlock & surrounding area. Access to the site is moderate but easy to find, the pitches may be a little hard to negotiate if you haven't got a mover and unable to reverse a van but are a decent size and privately hedged which is nice. There are no toilets or showers however its a CC - CL site so they will be on the van anyway so shouldn't be a problem. There are no children's play facilities however it is a safe site for them to play. Owners are very friendly & as said a great base with a bus stop at the bottom of the farm lane or you are able to walk into cromford down the road then by the side of the canal (approx 20-30 mins walk)

Michael and Teresa run a fantastic CL site we have visited the site a good few times now. Freesat boxes are supplied as tv reception is poor. The site is well maintained and very quiet. My son has the freedom to play outside and its nice to know he is safe as the site is gated off and all enclosed. The site has Electric, Water and Chemical waste disposal which is clean and tidy (e. G proper not a hole in the ground) The site also has some holiday cottages so if you want to get a break away with family who do not have a caravan/motorhome they could go with you. Cromford has a great pub called the Boat Inn which has great beers and food. Sainsburys is a short drive away. This site is worth a visit any time of the year but autumn is my favorite as the leafs are off all the trees and the views are amazing.

Just returned from splash farm. Site spotless. Pitches hard to manourver, we had a motor mover so we were lucky. Owner very friendly. Its a quite site with some lovely plants and shurbs. Sainsbury about 10 mins away. Lovely views. A great base to explore derby. Only down side no toilets or showers, would be great little site if these were installed. Would we revisit yes, if they had toilet and shower
