 Just a 1 night stopover and the quirkiness of the airfield appealed.
It's a small mainly static site with a concrete hardstanding area that would hold 3 or 4 units with electric hook ups. The view of the airfield is totally obliterated from this area by overgrown hedges which is a shame.
The hardstanding in general needs some love and attention to tidy it up and it would be fine.
There is lovely grass pitching area with 2 hook ups but it's in the centre of the carpark and the grass was quite long and with the amount of rain very wet.
Facilities block old but Immaculately cleaned. Plentiful hot water and seemed only us using.
Overall a good stopover that could be better if the hardstanding area was tidied up.

A quiet campsite except for the small planes taking off and landing during the day - which we loved!
Plenty of space and very clean toilets and showers with constant hot water no button to press. Just like home!
Megs cafe does excellent breakfasts and cakes and you have to book for a Sunday roast! No playground for kiddies but lots of space and nature.
This is a very rural area lots of good restaurants and cafes nearby but booking essential for most.
We will stay again

We had a very lovely one night at the caravan park. Gay was very helpful and polite.
The lady at the office where I paid was great and sociable.
The pilots / staff and visitors were all very helpful and knowledgeable and it was great talking to them and learning new things. The people who had statics were again lovely and chatty.
The breakfast was great.
Thank you for a lovely night and morning.

This is a quirky, but nice site, particularly if you like watching planes. Shobdon is the only airfield in Herefordshire and there are lots of small planes landing and taking off. Don't worry about being disturbed as flying doesn't start until after 8am and finished by 8pm.
The facilities are pretty good, very clean and up to date. The pitches are flat/level.
There is a cafe/bar run by the flying club which site users can use, it is reasonably priced and the food is good.
The site fees are reasonable, £20 a night for a caravan, awning and hook up.
Negatives, only minor ones but annoying. There doesn't appear to be a potwash area. No shaver point in the mens facilities. The washbasins don't have plugs, probably because they have been stolen, consequently there is a lot of wasted hot water.
