 Quite a large site for a CS with easy access just off the A40 between Ross and Monmouth so excellent location. Ross on Wye and Monmouth are both lovely old market towns just a short drive away as is the Wye Valley, Hereford, etc.
On-site are some fishing lakes although we didn't actually see them at all so can't comment.
The site is quite sloping, to the extent that with our very large four wheel drive, on what was just a damp-ish day, we struggled to get to the top of the site. Would have been OK at the bottom but, as a family, we had taken over the whole site and were first to arrive so wanted to make way for everyone else, some of whom were in motorhomes so might have had real difficulties.
The site appears to be run by mother and son but the son was away whilst we were there and mother appeared to be totally bemused by the whole thing. Very nice lady but she said they had never had more than one or two units at a time before so, with our five units (a mix of caravans, tents and motorhomes) plus non-camping members visiting at various points over the weekend) I think she found it a little overwhelming although I had clearly told her all about it when I booked!
Apart from electrics, the only site facility is a toilet which, although just housed in a large wooden shed, was kept spotlessly clean (despite the loose grass (not picked up after mowing!) and appeared to be swept out several times a day.
Recycling seemed to be a big problem unfortunately with the owner speaking to various members of our party at various times about it. We all tried our best to put the right things in the right bins but there were just three (I think it was three) unlabelled black bins, all just with plastic bags that would have been fine for a normal weekend for one or two units but were totally inadequate for our numbers. It was also a fairly wet, windy weekend so that didn't help once the bins were full.
Overall, a useful place to stay location-wise and if there are only the usual 'one or two units'!
