 Please note, we have been advised this campsite is temporarily closed until next year (hopefully May 20th 2020) because of noisy construction work going on in the vicinity.

We (2 adults and dog) stayed here for 4 nights from 28th December to 1st January. We booked using e-mail and received prompt and friendly replies to our initial booking and follow-up e-mails. Although the pitches are all grass, in view of our concerns regarding the wet weather we were given the option of pitching at the end of the driveway onto the field, which we took advantage of. The owners had also thoughtfully left out an electric cable for us to use if ours wasn't long enough to reach one of the plentiful hook-up points. Another caravan did pitch on the field and seemed to have no problem, despite the field being soft in some parts. The location is excellent, just off the motorway with the Cheshire Oaks shopping outlet, a Sainsbury's supermarket, a Vue cinema, a bowling alley and a variety of pubs and eating places within walking distance or a very short drive. The Blue Planet Aquarium, Chester Zoo and Chester itself are within a few miles and a bus to these places can be caught from Cheshire Oaks. The canal is just at the back of the site and is perfect for cycling to Chester one way and walking or cycling to Ellesmere Port and its Boat Museum the other. Our dog especially appreciated walks along the canalside and the nearby bridle paths, all easily accessible from the site. There was background noise from the motorway (except when drowned out by the wind and the rain!) but this did not bother us at all and despite the often wet and windy weather we greatly enjoyed our short break here and look forward to returning.
