The site has good facilities and is in a pleasant and interesting location.
It is on a good bus route to get into centre of Copenhagen.
Has laundry but sadly the washing machine hadn't been working for 2 weeks although it was replaced on the day that we left.

Quirky site in an old fort with moat and drawbridge. Well organized and clean.
Facilities very good and restaurant with view across to Sweden excellent but expensive. Staff very helpful.
Bus into City nearby but it’s easier to get short bus and then train. Cyclable too. About 30 mins. Get a Copenhagen pass. It pays for itself with travel included and most Galleries museums boat trips included.
Shops nearby but best is a Netto at train Station. If you prebook then any extras like showers electricity washing machines are calculated as you leave and taken off your bankcard.
Copenhagen is a small city but very friendly.

We have stayed at this camp site over 4 times. It is a small camp site but ideally situated for visiting Copenhagen. It is set in an old fortress: the showers and kitchen are situated in what was underground stores and there are cannons around the site.
I would recommend booking the site in advance, especially if you requite an EHU. There has always been a real mix of visitors to the site and many stop for just a night or two, though we have stayed for 4-5 nights. Because of it's popularity and location the pitches are small and you will feel quite close to your neighbours. The wardens are also strict about the size of your tent and in some pitches how you position your car.
It can be tricky to navigate through Copenhagen with a car to find the site initially but it is then very easy to get the frequent buses into Copenhagen or cycle. There is a train station within about 15 mins walk I think too. There is also a popular small beach 5 mins walk from the site. The campsite didn't have a shop last time we stayed but there are supermarkets on the main road into Copenhagen and one near to the train station.
There were 4 showers for the ladies (I guess a similar number for the men), along with washbasins and loos. They are operated by a keycard for the hot water. As with many Danish sites there is an inside kitchen which was free to use- it had a number of gas hobs, microwave and worktop spaces along with sinks. You need to take cooking equipment with you but there is also tables to eat inside, and a lounge area. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer. The site has no playground, but many children enjoy climbing the steep hills- they are steep so if you have children it's advisable to supervise.
There is a lot to do in Copenhagen! Over the years we have seen many different things but our favourites were: taking a canal cruise, Tivoli (go in the late afternoon with a picnic and warm clothes to see the shows), the design museums, the zoo. The last time was purchased a 'Copenhagen card' which worked out to be good value in free attractions and also gave free public transport. Within walking distance from the site there is an excellent aquarium. I would also recommend using the site as a base to visit Roskilde, Helsingor and the surrounding coast, possibly Sweden over the bridge, Koge, and Sagnlandet Lejre (a fantastic outdoor museum).
