This is a big site with (in December) lots of unoccupied Portuguese caravans but don't be put off. Once you have booked in at reception near the road, drive through them all until you reach a camping area on the far side of the site. Here you will find some very good new washrooms with plenty of hot water and a gate to a track down to the beach. In winter they only open the gate for ten minutes each hour at weekends, two hourly on weekdays, so you have to time your walks. But 600 metres of tracks through dunes take you to a fantastic series of beaches where you can easily walk all day. Back on our pitch we watched the sun set into the Atlantic each evening.
