After several attempts to obtain an answer from various campsites in the area I was getting frustrated and worried that we would end up in a layby somewhere. Rang for availability to another site. The owner directed us to use Green Farm as the other site was without power or water. Because I was below par I forgot to ask salient questions before ending the phone call. On arrival the access was between the owners house and a building site. Track was rough but no real concern. The 'campsite' was a field/paddock behind the house and there was one caravan already on site. We asked the occupants the location of any toilet facilities and got the reply that there were none. Not a real problem as we had a toilet of sorts on-board but would have preferred an alternative. I didn't want further frustration in trying to locate another site so we set up camp for the night.
Apart from there being no toilet/washbasin facilities there was the added problem of watching where you stepped as there were several mounds of dog poo scattered around the field. Oh and keep your habitation door shut unless you want visits from the number of free roaming dogs.
When the owner came to collect the site fee we found him to be very pleasant and helpful. I was unable to access any wifi as it appeared the signal wasn't strong enough to reach the field.
All this for £15pn with electric. (Hmm I'm now on a site with spotless toilet and shower facilities, on site shop, tarmac road etc etc at £11pn. ) I'll leave it there.
