First time visitors to this lovely CL.
Secluded positioning but easy access and a short flat walk into Horncastle (town was unfortunately like most are at the moment with lots of boarded up shops and looking a bit sorry for itself).
Spacious pitches. One shared tap and toilet disposal. EHU points for each pitch. We were meant to stay three nights but a mix up with the booking meant we could only have two.
Walks direct from site to the mill (now a house) and then through an amazing wild flower meadow. Sheltered site too.
Really good value for money at £15 a night.

This is a perfectly ok site, not fantastic but more than acceptable. It's the nearest site to Horncastle, 15 minutes walk, couple of minutes drive. It's also the cheapest at £10 per night for 2014.
The site is well drained grass which is kept short, but there are a lot of molehills which is hardly the fault of the owners. Access is easy, the gate is more than wide enough.
The road continues down to Thimbleby Mill, then a path goes into fields where there are dog walking possibilities.
The owners don't live in the house next to the site but just down the road. I was somewhat disappointed that they did not make themselves known to us, had to go to them to pay. They prefer cash payment.
Horncastle is ok, has many antique shops, a Co-op, 3 fuel stations (nearest is Murco). There are nice enough walks around (but circular walks all seem to involve some road walking), and interesting places such as Snipe Dales Country Park and Old Bolingbroke with the remains of the castle where Henry IV was born. It's easy to get to Lincoln, Skegness, Spilsby etc.
There are a good few pubs in the town, but we do our drinking in the caravan so can't comment.
